Nice, I sat in one at Benchmark for a good 30 mins. Very comfortable! Packs up well too!

Haven't pulled the trigger on one yet, if I find one used on one of these back pack forums I'll pick it up.

I sat in that one too. haha thats what had me sold! super comfy! a little weird sitting in it at first because of how low it is.. also might make for an interesting scene if I have been drinking a lot and try to get out of it.:p
I just bought my Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter off of Amazon as well as the Hennessy Expedition. Both are awesome hammocks but the Hen. is definitely more expensive. you get what you pay for though.

Does anybody here use alcohol stoves? I made one today like this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fStsgTremmI&feature=related I used perlite instead of fiberglass though. It's a little tricky to light, but I think I'm going to like it. My last couple of trips I've used tuna can/cardboard wick candles. They worked great, but they produce too much soot.

Nice video! I use an alcohol stove, well let me rephrase. I used to but I just picked up a real nice canister stove, so the alcohol stove is now my back up.

I use a Tuna can with holes drilled into the sides, with denatured alcohol. Works great! Only issue I have had is accidentally crushing the tuna can at night ( 3 times :D ). Luckily its a cheap easy fix!

Tip of the day! Do not put denatured alcohol in a unmarked water bottle! Someone may drink it! My friend took a drink of his own denatured alcohol, that was a interesting night!! lol

So has anyone done any Beach camping? I'm looking into some East Coast Beach camping, and was wondering if any of you knew of some really cool primitive spots.

    Places of interest so far:

    Virginias False Cape State Park
    Cumberland Island, Georgia
    Assateague Island, Virginia
    OutBanks - Frisco, North Carollna

I have done some beach camping..... tip.... make sure you know how far the tide comes up at night.... I was on one beach where the sand dried out really really well during the day.... well.... set up my tent and ended up in the water after I passed out drunk off my ass in my tent that evening.

I know it's not East Coast, but my girlfriend and I went camping out at Shi Shi Beach on the Olympic Peninsula last summer.

I'll echo the tide thing. We got there at midnight and there were a couple other campsites set up on the beach. So we picked a spot away from others and far enough back from the water to hopefully keep us dry through the night. The Pacific Ocean is no joke!

We made it, I think the water only came within 10 feet of our tent, but it was one of the worst nights of sleep I had ever had.

We could have camped up in designated campsites in the woodline along the shore, but I think that might have been worse. When we went to use the latrine the next day, we found fresh bear scat everywhere!

The black bears on the WA coast are very used to humans. Shi Shi is a popular surfing beach (if you can call cold-ass Washington chop surfing) because it's only a 2-mile hike from the trailhead to the beach, and they tend to leave food and stuff behind.

Bear canisters are required, and as long as you don't leave food around your site, they aren't going to mess with you. In fact, we saw at least 4 piles of fresh scat -- but never once saw a bear.
