X2. I did that when I first got my phone. It did more damage than good. caused my phone to go into reboot mode constantly.

Anyone with app killer with Android 2.2, uninstall app killer.

Nice, hows the battery life on it? An instructor and I were looking at the phone today. He's debating in getting it. Just depends.

I say give it a shot. The upload speed on it right now blows (it's capped) but there is an update that is supposed to fix it coming out this month. AT&T has a 30-day money back policy if you don't like it (you might have to buy it from them though. I'm not certain).

The phone usually lasts about a day if I don't charge it. Mine doesn't usually run low as I have the car dock, the laptop dock and the standard dock. The standard dock sits on my nightstand, it switches the phone to a clock mode when I insert the phone, so I use it as my alarm clock. I use the cardock as the hands-free mode and to play music through my stereo (Pioneer DEH-P880PRS).

The laptop dock has it's own battery which charges the phone when it's plugged into the dock. So on a recent trip from San Diego to DC, I used the phone for the whole trip on the laptop dock (4 1/2 hours). When I unplugged it from the dock, the phone was fully charged. One cool thing too if you travel and use the airline's onboard WI-FI, if you sign on with the phone and then plug it into the dock, it's a cheaper price than if you plug it into the lapdock and sign on with the browser (difference in price based on mobile vs computer). Some of the guys on Xda-developers have even managed to get a full version of Ubuntu (9.x) running on the lapdock. It requires some hacking though and root access.

If you have a Citrix server running somewhere, you can use the lapdock as the client as it has built-in support for Citrix.

One downside, there aren't any case protectors I know of that will work with the docks. You'd have to remove the phone from it's case to use it on the docks (especially the car dock). The laptop dock and the standard dock have removeable plates that may allow it to fit with some cases.

Interesting. Its a nifty idea, just wanted to hear some firsthand opinions on it. I'll show him this tomorrow. Since he has been wanting a new phone.

The lapdock also requires a tethering plan so that will add $20 more per month.

check out PDAnet. the full version is $15 but its a one time fee and you can tether without a tethering plan. just hook up your phone, hit a button it, then hit a button on your laptop and you have instant access. i had it on my droid, now i need to make sure i can get it on my incredible

I think it's different on the lapdock though. It uses the phone and checks to see whether or not the dock is tied to a plan when the dock is connected to the phone. I've seen some get around general computer tethering by rooting the Atrix. I don't know if it works with the lapdock though.
