Although I've never met him personally I'm always hearing John is doing something good for the community we share (Ocala FL).

    This has gotta hurt: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28473634

I've had friends tell me John and Kelly would take their son out to local eateries and were always nice, never rude or embarrassed about having a handicapped son.

I'm hoping Ocala will do something good for the Travoltas and Prestons.

I feel terrible about this. No parent should ever have to go thru this. That being said, I have to wonder if their belief in Scientology had anything to do with this. Probably not a fair question, as I know next to nothing about it, but my understanding is no use of medications. If their son had a history of siezures and wasn't using anything but natural remidies to keep them under control, then that is a scary situation to me. Like I said, I know next to nothing about it. Anyone here feel free to chime in.

They kind of talk both ways. I think they say it's okay for legal reasons but they do encourage their members to abstain from them. Asprin is particularly bad as it "inhibits the ability of the thetan to create mental image pictures" and render the thetan as a result "stupid, blank, forgetful, delusive and irresponsible. He gets into a 'wooden' sort of state, unfeeling, insensitive, unable and definitely not trustworthy, a menace to his fellows actually"

I just watched a mini interview with John that was taped long ago. He says because he was a neat freak when his son was young he was constantly having the carpet cleaned in his house, the chemicals got to his son and caused "Kawasaki's Syndrome". He didn't say that was the reason for the seizures, I think CNN wanted us to imply that for ourselves.

This is horrible. Its tough to lose a family member, especially when its your offspring. My heart goes out to their families.
