dnx8120

has anyone had issues in getting the dnx to sit straight in their truck? mine seems to be leaning down and to the left. also, that black frame that comes with it just bounces all around! anyone got any tips on how to secure it so it will stop making so much noise?

 

what install kit did you get. sounds like you didn't install it the right way, easy to do considering they don't really give any
directions.

 

i used the metro i think it is. but i used the stock metal brackets from original radio. maybe I should have used the plastic ones but I dont even think I have the box for the radio anymore which is where I put all that old stuff

 

yeah you definitely should have used those plastic ones. They clip into the sides of the opening and ties it all together. Damn you might have to order another kit then.

 

i used the scoshe for my dnx8120, mine used to rattle a bit on the drivers side of it but i took it back out and jammed some foam down the side and its better now, but hard to see when its first started, till it warms up i guess???

 

Did you take the yellow clips off your stock piece and transfer them to the scoshe.

 

Yea it is best to use the plastic mounts that came with it, I didn't the first time and couldn't get the trim ring to stay in cause the metal brackets make the angle funny.

 

I got a ddx512 and used a metra kit and it fits pretty well. I used the stock metal brackets off the stock headunit as well. I had to play with the plastic trim plates that attach to the inside of the dash kit. I had to remove the kenwood trim in order for it to fit well. There is a small gap but it really doesn't bother me. I was planning on sanding down the kenwood trim for it to fit better but never got around to doing it.

 

I have the same deck and installed it at first with the metra kit and absolutely hated it!!!! didn't sit straight, appeared to be placed too far out instead of being recessed and rattled.

Order the scosche kit and its amazing night and day difference and I love it. I tend to be ocd with that kind of thing and this made it better lol.

 

You have to redrill the holes in the metal factory brackets and reuse the yellow factory tabs with the Metra trim kit. Otherwise you have to use the plastic brackets.

I had went through the same exact issues with my AVN 726e. The Scosche kit FTW! Just wish I could find a black one. I painted mine, and well..lets just say I need a black one...
