    i know that, but there are people who want wheels but they dont fit, like myself. make them fit

    I like to think these parts are designed a certain way for a reason. Grinding parts to make something fit that wasn't designed to fit is a bad idea. Especially when it comes down to my brakes or wheels.

    i understand the concern, but i literally only had to grind about 1/16" or less to fit them. they were barely touching, not siezed on the caliper.
    if you are trying to fit them and they are seized to the caliper, its probably not a good idea to grind away

    That's what I was thinking. I think it would be better to get parts that fit correctly due to this being safty related...that's just my opinion. What I'd be concerned with is not knowing how much material was left after grinding that 1/16" off.

    ya thats true, but they are most likely fairly thick becasue of the pressure they have to hold to push the piston

    mrgrimm has had his calipers like this for over 2 years and he hasnt had a single issue.....

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    And due to the pressures, there isnt alot of room to grind away at the calipers. In the past, people who have done this have experianced stress cracks, or complete failure of the caliper by grinding just a little too much off. Im with Jigz on this one. I dont think its a good idea. Although some people havent had issues, others have. Better off getting the correct wheels for the vehicle. A broken caliper doesnt give the luxury of advanced notice of failure. It generally happens when you need them the most.

    I really have my heart set on the procomp/wheelers alloys! Would it be safer to use Wheelers 1/4" spacer that comes with the E/T Ultra stlye lug nuts as apposed to grinding the calipers?

    I did the exact same thing to fit my wheels, ground down 1/16th on an inch and it was a hairline from the calipers so i added a 1/4 inch spacer and ET lugs, too. My tires stick out a little but i like the look.
