no, these tires are actually pretty quiet, esp for such an aggressive tread. now, i'm not saying they dont hum... i just dont hear it over my music, exhaust and other random noises my truck makes...haha.

but seriously, they are not as loud as you would expect. they def ride like a mud terrain tire at slower speeds (not as smooth as an all terrain) but it's nothing horrible. all in all, i love these tires. best tire i have run on my truck, i will buy other set when the time comes

Now, a serious sand test please... Compared to the Rugged Trails, better? ie. can you go further in sand without deflation? Petersen's said they were great in sand... but magazines say good things about a lot of things because they get freebies or paid advertisers.

i tested them out in some sand 2 weeks ago and i got stuck pretty quick. they dug like a mother... but i wasn't planning on hitting any sand so i wasn't aired down. once i aired down, i was able to free myself and stay going but the generals kept wanting to dig.

granted, i could have aired down way more and if i were 4WD it would have been a different story... but these tires like to "grab" everything...even when they shouldn't.

i know of other people who are running them on 4WD vehicles and they said what the magazine reviews said... great in the sand.

still are great tire. over 7K miles, with one rotation and i cant see any wear yet. the road manners of the tires def improve after a few thousand miles. red letters have fadded noticably, and the tires are a tiny bit louder than they were brand new, but i'm still very very happy with them. i still highly recomend them

As the OP of this thread, let me wrap up my interest in the Grabber by saying the 265/75-16 (listed in their ads as available) still was not available as of last February.

That, along with a very high price had me switch to purchasing the Hankook Dynapro ATMs... and I am VERY pleased with them! Quiet ride and my mud, snow, desert sand tests all excellent... The Grabber looks like a cool tire for off road, but doesn't help me if I can't get it in a size that will fit an unlifted Tacoma!

    Viva Dynapros!!

^^^ i've heard really good things about those tires. i'm considering those when i move up to 35's.

the grabbers are expensive, almost to the point of ridiculous and general is way behind on production, it's hard to get certain sizes and impossible to get others. like you said, they are listed as available, but in reality are not.

i can get a set of 4 dynaori tires in 315/75/16 for almost half the cost of 4 grabbers in the same size...

    It's Alive!!!!!! Old thread resurrection!

Any long term updates on the General Grabbers? Looking to get some new rubber soon, and these look like a good performance option.

Have they yet made them available in a non-lifted Tacoma size (265/75-16)? They advertise it, but when I was shopping two years ago, (when this thread was new) it was not yet available.

I was browsing another forum some time ago and somebody had a set of the DOT approved Grabber red labels....he said they only lasted roughly 15K-20K miles
