    ya autozone has breaker bars. or you could just use a medium sized ratchet to do the job. ive just seen people break the gears in a ratchet before thats why i use breaker bars for high torque stuff

    i tried to use a ratchet yesterday and i was leaning on it and the lug wouldnt budge..... lol that shit is torqued on soooo hard

    kick down on it, just be careful not to kick it off the lugnut cause you might strip it

    dude so i was grinding for 2 hours and went through all my dremels and i am like a shave away from getting one wheel to fit lol

    this is why i said in post #1, if you dont feel comfortable doing it, DONT.

    i never said it was the best idea ever, some might have problems, others might not. i have been going 75mph down the highway and mashed the brakes to the floor and there has been no difference before or after the grinding. i also grinded on a small corner of the caliper, which is stronger than a flat surface

    sooooo i was using sanding bits yesterday lol. i went and bought two tungsten carbide cutters on my lunch! hopefully today will be more fruitful.

    oh and fyi even the toyota parts/mechanic guy said grind the caliper lol

    No. Just not advocating something that could lead to an accident causing harm to the vehicle, ocvcupants, or others. Funny thing about brakes. The more powerfull they are, the stronger, thicker the caliper has to be made. The pic of the caliper Total Chaos shows is NOT a Tacoma caliper, but rather a domestic truck. Ita a standard 2 piston caliper. The Tacoma has a 4 piston caliper. Grinding it down is a bad idea. BUT....In the end, its your truck, so if you want to grind away at a safety device, go for it. Trying to tell others its a good idea is fucking stupid. Especially when there are ways to do it right. Neither you, or the OP understand the forces involved inside the brake caliper, and are in no way qualified to say this causes no harm to the system.

    i understand what you are saying chris, and i never said it was a good idea or that it will not cause harm, its just something i did to MY truck to fit the wheels. i understand how brakes work, im a mechanic in the military. its not my first time picking up a wrench. im not a dumbass kid hacking away at a 30k truck.

    i also dont want to sit here and get in an argument over it. i have my opinion, you have yours and we are both entitled to them.

    thats why i said in post one, if you dont like it, DONT DO IT

    actually that picture that tc shows is the same caliper i have. (i have a 5 lug).....

    i called and confirmed with tc what they did and what to do man.

    im not here to argue or upset but i am choosing to do this modification.

    if god chooses to smite me for such a modification so be it...
