Hey guys, went to the dealer this moring here in HENDERSONVILLE, TN about the TSB leaf suspension for my 2010 TRS sport with 15 K miles.
First they did not know what I was talking about.
Than after I gave them the print out that I got from you guys here, they make me wait for 20 mins to read it, than called me in to say that it can be done but it is a difficult thing, and they will need me to drop my truck off so their technication can get the VIN # and etc.
I complain about it, close to call it BS, but they told me if I want to do it, that is what it will take.
PLUS, they told me that when I do it, there is no going back, and that it will be a rough ride, things may get loose in the truck, etc... Good speach... almost talked me into not doing it...
    What do you guys think>???

I think the service advisor is being a huge doucher and to just get it done.

My dealership didn't care at all about doing it and didn't give me some BS speech about stuff coming loose.

Are you talking about Ron Hibbard Toyota in Gallatin or Rivergate Toyota in Madison? I don't know of a Toyota dealership in Hendersonville.

They are both pretty close to each other so you could give the other one a try and see what they say. You could also try Beaman Toyota downtown, not that far away eitherp. It kind of sucks to go down town for service on your truck but if they treat you right it might be worth it.

That's what my dealership said to me last week. He ordered the leaf packs on Tuesday afternoon and they got delivered first thing Thursday morning. Installed on Friday. Your dealership is BS'ing you.

Hey it's new rear leaf springs and an alignment. Tell them you have a harsh ride so they can't say anything. They have to do it. You said you only have 15K miles on it so it's well within the mileage requirement. Since yours is 2010 and TRD Sport you do not get the new shocks, but you still get the alignment. Read through the TSB so you completely understand it before they get thier hands on it. If they seem to be reluctant to do it, I would, go to another dealer.
    I went from stock to
Old Man Emu/Dakar leaf springs. (7 Leafs) Did it myself.

Just wait 4 years when the 4 leaf pack sags. Good times.

I'll be upgrading to OME Dakar here in a bit.

^Above 36000 you will have to pay for it if you want the TSB done, which thanks to high spare part markups makes it a far worse deal than OME or All-Pro springs.

Yep. Go to another dealer if at all possible. Can't trust this one to do the job properly.

Jeez with all the posts on TW regarding the rear spring TSB folsk would of got the message now that it's not mandatory that the dealer perform it. You can't walk into the dealer saying I've got this TSB and I want you to do it. Your vehicle needs to demonstrate the symptoms that the TSB was issued to address. Unless I'm missing something here, did you take your truck to the dealer complaining about it bottoming out under load and that it rides bad with weight in the bed? It sounds like you just asked them to do the TSB because it's free.

Why he wants it is irrelevant. There is a TSB and if you tell them you want to use the truck as a truck and it sucks how it is now, then the dealer needs to shut the fuck up and order the fucking parts and call you when they get them. Period. A truck should not leave the factory with passenger car suspension. Period. I could see them laming out on 5 lug base models but not prerunners and certainly not 4wd.

What it sounds like to me is they really didn't know much about the TSB to start with OR they had bad experiences with customers on it before.

Therefore they may be worried about someone getting the mod, then coming back accusing them of botching up the truck when the customer discovers he doesn't actually like the mod. Or if other problems show up the dealer gets accused of causing it and so on.
