if you are financing you can do better. the profit is in the financing. i paid cash and without any effort was offered a lower price than that on the same truck.

I got mine in December for a grand less than that without the graduate discount. The only difference between mine and yours is I don't have the 6-disc.

Well I don't know how much these are from year to year but i paid 25k (financed) for a 2008 Sand Black Pearl dbl cab sport package 6 cd, tow pkg, automatic, yada yada with a 2000 4runner for trade in, asked 5 k at the time and got it . I held firm from the get go. I went to a site in Danvers Mass (ira toyota)who had 20 of them on the lot though, go to a place that doesn't want to see them just sitting there wasting away. Don't go to a place that doesn't have any on their lot they need to trade or bargain to get trucks from other dealers and not all dealers work with eachother. good luck

Check out truecar.com, see if any dealers in the area will beat it.

Use Edmunds.com to determine the actual invoice price for the vehicle and options. You should be able to get the dealer to take $500 to 600 over invoice plus tax, title, and license, minus the $1000 incentive. The dealer makes money even if they sell the car at their invoice (holdback %). The incentive is from Toyota, so the dealer doesn't lose money because of it.

Get the approximate title and license fee from DMV. Have the above math written down in large print on paper in front of you while talking to the sales guys. Keep going back to it even when they write down their offers on the "quad" board.

I always agree on an "out the door" cost for the new car before talking about trade and financing.

Good luck, and remember that everything is nogotiable. It really boils down to how comfortable you are with haggling. I also always have someone with me who "wants to walk away from the deal". They don't get involved except to pull me back before I sign up to a bad deal.

apparently the only thing to add is the sales tax from the dmv...

my dad has been in sales for the past 40 years, and he was not with me. if he goes with me i think he would be able to talk to the salesman better than me.

i will be financing, and the 1000 college rebate is through toyota financial...

I wouldn't pay more than $500 over invoice. Actually I push for no more than $250 over invoice and let them sell me some accessories.

Maybe. Remember, with the earthquake, supplies are tightening up and prices may creep up a bit.

Still, I'd say you ought to be able to get to 500 over invoice and then take off the grad incentive on top of that.

Went to another dealer, and the salesman was really nice, and actually knew alot about the product. There isn't much markup from invoice to sticker ive found... he got me to 29,644.00 with the college rebate. Seems that is about what the price is going around my area...

toyota is slowly raising their prices on these damn things too which is why people in december got a better price than in may...

Im going to call him tomorrow and tell him i'll take it for 29,500.00 and if he gives me free 30 day plates...

    Hope this sounds good.
