carrier berring is slopy

Just did oil change, grease fittings and I find this, berring is way too loose. its a 99 4x4 with 130000 on the clock. With my bad leafs in the rear I am almost pulling my hair out . What to do first? Leafs or berring...p.s. money is tight.

 

go with the carrier bearing. you can always get some cheap helper springs for the rear.

 

I just checked mine. I've got *maybe* 1/8 of an inch of play in my carrier bearing. Is that considered "sloppy" and in need of replacement?

 

no....thats actually pretty normal. even a quarter inch isnt too bad.

 

I just changed out a carrier bearing last fall, the old one had lots of play but even the new one seemed to have about 18th of an inch of play.

my carrier bearings dust boot has some shredding on in and when driving if i hit some of the smallest bumps i hear this squeeking thinking its the carrier bearing sound like time to replace to yall?
