Damn dude! I did a little storm chasing in the coraicana area Monday. Needless to say the peddle practically lived on the floor and I actually hit 16 mpg. Usually I'm around 18-22 depending on the direction of the wind.

 yeah that sucks. How many miles are on your truck? You might clean your mass airflow sensor. It made a huge difference in my 06 4cyl. After cleaning it my challenge became actually making the needle move (damn I miss those mpgs).

Soak just the sensor portion in a cup full of 90% rubbing alcohol (speaking of alcohol....) for about 20 min, swish (excuse the terminology) it around pretty good. Then let it dry for another 15 or so.

So the MAF sensor is that little square box thing right? I have a K&N CAI, do i need to take it off to clean it or can i just stick the can inside the tube? Im meaning to do this before the meet.

I got 17mpg to my last tank still avg. 16.5mpg though...waiting for my CO drive in july to see what kind of mpg i can get doing 12hours straight driving on highway im hoping to get up to 19mpg which will be sweet, the k&N intake helps alot with the highway cruising.

Im down fo the extreme trails when we go out there, want to see what these 4.88s can do.

Do a search on YouTube for removing it, there is a vid of a guy pulling it on a FJ(it should be in the same place. I would link it if I wasn't f-ed up right now and using a phone that verizon is having a nation wide data outage on so I'm surfing at 1x on right now).

I would really recommend soaking it. I know they make maf cleaner, but there was shit on mine that didnt brake free until it was soaked.

Id do some extremes with ya, my only stipulation is i dont wanna roll

I went to winter park in Feb and i was getting 20-21, but i had my highway rims and tires on. I dont know about 1st gens but the 2nd gen MAF cal's are amazing.

Ill keep that in mind, ill probaby end up taking it out anyways. Glad im not home right now then, because i have verizon haha

Well im not really scared of trees and body damage. i would just rather not roll it haha, suprisingly enough the truck really doesnt have many dents and scratchs on it.
