Lemme recheck mine but I think you xy value is off. I got -39xy But I did it in my head.

(6x+5y)(3x-9y)
18x^2+15xy-54xy-45y^2

-54xy+15xy=-39xy

That should be correct if I copied the problem down right

 

Is it not two equations, if it was it would be written as 6/2x(1+2) that is two equations and gives you 9 6/2(1+2) gives you 1

It does NOT depend on how you consider the division. Think of it as a fraction.

That, written out, is 6/[2(1+2)]


which is not the same as 6/2(1+2)
