My wife has anxiety problems due to work. They use to come up about every quarter when reports were due. She went to a doctor that has her on Lithium and hasn't had a problem in over two years (knocks on wood). Only downside is Lithium can make you put on weight unless you drink a lot of water (about 6-8 glass a day which you should do anyway).

Went through all of this and more and had to deal with the bs of acute medicine in the US. Mental health is very tricky, but from all my research and personal experience I have found that the mind is the body.

My life fell apart and was crippled with anxiety..pretty much a total shell of what I used to be. All the Dr's wanted to do was mask my symptoms and not deal with the root cause.

Anxiety and sleep deprivition are usually a sign from your body that there is a dysfunction or definciancy somewhere in the body wheteher it be lifestyle, endocrine, nutrional etc. Most likely know just too function and get through stressful situations your adrenals are pumping out cortisol and you are running on pure adrenaline which is making you anxious and giving you panic attacks.

Most Docs in the US only do Acute Medicine which will only help you when you have Acute problems..Other than most will just mask your symptoms.

If you want to be like your old self and better check out Dr. Romeo Mariano.. He is world renown in functional medicine.. he is a psychiatrist and specializes in neuroendrocrinology and a ton of other stuff...He is very far from a normal doc who just throws meds. The biggest is he understands the how the mind interacts with the body and how the mind is the body.

This guy brought my life back to me when every other doc just blew me off or through meds.

Sorry for the story and rambling..but I just wanted people to know so they can get back to their normal lives.

Dr. Mariano also has a website: http://www.definitivemind.com/

He is out of Monterey Ca and sees many from around the world. You have to see him once a year and the rest of the time is phone consultations.

This was the best money I have ever spent in my entire life.

If your struggling this is the guy who will actually help you.
