LED Lighting Strips (Interior/Exterior)

I will be cleaning up the wires a little bit once my local autozone gets some black conduits in.

i had my dad ship them out from his business and he forgot to look through the list for the eyelids tracking number, they ship out numerous dirtbike parts everyday so he doesnt check the numbers haha ill get it to ya tomorrow!

What light kit did you use? Is it too bright?

I want to do something similar for the cutout in my front bumper. I would like to leave the light on while driving but I don't want it to be distracting to other drivers. Thoughts?

 

The lights I'm using are the lights I'm selling

Mine are not distracting because I got a piece of clear lexicarbonate, spray painted it white, and used 3m molding tape to stick it to the back of my skid so I had more of an even lighting and not individual LEDs.

i might grab some of these bastards if your still selling them. the light bars seem like they would make good low profile rock light and things of that sort.

 

Yeah, I know they are the ones you are selling, but I wasn't sure if it was the rigid light bar or the flexible one or if you used multiple sets to cover the whole area.

I like your idea of using the painted lexicarbonate. What exactly is the material, I'm assuming it is similar to plexiglass? Thanks again!

Is the exact type of material I used. I have four of the 10" rigid bars in cool white behind it and painted the Lexan matte white. I just picked up a size at my local homedepot that fit around my cut out, epoxy glue sucked at holding it on to my smooth skidplate so I used 3M molding tape to stick it on and that holds strong. If you want to mount the lights I would recommend also getting some bendable metal strips that are about 1/2" wide and bend it to a shape like:

Use 3M tape on both sides (In RED) to stick the bracket to the bumper or the Lexan and use 3M tape to stick the rigid bars on to the middle of the bracket (In BLUE) and zipties to re-enforce the hold.

 

Alright, so I got around to taking some pictures of my waterproof lights but there is just one thing:

In the picture below you can see two wires coming out of the side of the strip on the top strip. The bottom strip is how it is going to come. The bottom strip is a waterproof male connection for a 12v, the other end of the strip has the female connection, but I've been having some trouble with my supplier trying to rip me off so I'm trying to work some things out with them currently to get some connections with long length wires that have the same end so you can use that waterproof connection. If you are willing to get some waterproof connections (from the local homedepot) you can cut off the ends and use the two wires.



Here is a picture of them in water, I didn't set the camera settings correctly but they are the exact same brightness as my rigid strips:

 

well once finals are done i will prolly be buy some of these 4 sure. woud they work good as close to medium range work/fog lights for the sides aand back of my truck. do you have any pics showing how well they wioll light up a grage door from 15-20 feet away? cause im thinking of trying to make them throw off light in every direction possible!!!

 

I can use my hood lights to shine on a garage door if that works for you

Not quite what you requested (I don't have enough room on my driveway to park my truck 15' away from the door facing the door). But to explain the picture a little bit the lights are facing down slightly. High lighting is good up to 11', usable lighting is up to 21' (my little tape measure is about 25' out).

 

did you coneect the wiring to a fuse box already in the truck or did you buy a separate one?

 

I'm writing a how-to right now, but the bed lights are wired to an aftermarket fusebox which does not require the ignition to be on. If you use a fuse tap (add-a-circut), some of the fuses will require the ignition to be on.

 

If you have leftover lighting strips, it makes for great under cabinet lighting in the kitchen. I did this about a year ago:
