How is this route? I want to take 40 cuz its the easiest way out of Salt Lake or easiest way that I am taking. I was going to go thru Steamboat but my dad is at the Tough Mudder in Avon right when I am getting into CO....any other ideas?

On a side note, my sister is set for surgery May 17th and her treatment is 4-6 weeks later. Luckily I'll be there around the time for treatment.

I like the book but don't think they always rate the trails correctly

No one can rate trails 100% accurately. There are ever changing conditions and always personal opinions which are lead by the persons vehicle preferences. It is a fantastic guide though.

A small handful of select mods.
Two lane Colorado highway. Twists and turns but I believe is maintained by CDOT so it should a fine drive.
