Really, I should be asking what good does protesting in general do? In light of the current exchanges between Israel and Palestine, that's all that's on the news. The conflict, and the protestors.

I don't care what your stance on the issue is, but do these people (protesting against Israel) think they're actually accomplishing something? Seems to me they're just simple attention-whores using this to try and get themselves propped up into the spotlight. I read this comment someone posted on their Facebook page (one of those "friend of a friend of a friend of a friend" people) after she got back from a local protest here in San Diego, and her words were "That was great, guys! It's amazing what a bunch of us Arabs can accomplish!".

    :bored:

Did you really actually "accomplish" anything? There's still fightin' goin' on, so no, you didn't. If you really wanted to do something about it, get off your ass and actually do something to support what you believe. Clogging public areas, yelling and waiving signs for a few hours doesn't do anything worth a damn, except piss people off ('cause more than likely, you're gettin' in people's way) - especially when you're not even on the same continent where the fighting is. If you're going to protest, at least protest in an area that's frequented by high-echelon politicans (i.e. the White House). Maybe they'll hear you, and do something about it. (Isn't that why you're doing this in the first place?) Protesting on Main St., USA doesn't help. (Nor do I think protesting period helps, but that's beside the point.)

(I ruled out politely contacting their local political leaders, because they probably wouldn't be able to comprehend that idea in the first place.)

    Stupid people.

Wonder why they didn't protest while Hamas lauched 300 rockets into Israel in one week?

Come on! It's only an atrocity if it's you who's on the receiving end.

I love how everyone thinks Palestine exists...... The last time it existed was in 1948!! People can claim what Israel is doing is sooooo wrong but when you let terrorists bomb and send rockets from your home in the Gaza Strip to the rest of Israel, you might expect some kind of retaliation. Especially when the Hamas "douche bags" were suppose to be in a cease-fire.

There is nothing we can do or say to stop this fighting in the middle east, both parties are blinded by there beliefs to which death and murder don't exist. Talk about biting off the nose to spite the face, let them fight, maybe one day we'll look over there and find no one left, then up goes a Walmart. :D

well, Israel has warned Hamas many times. " stop firing your rockets, if you dont we will attack." so its not like they havent given them warning. Hamas is just stupid enough to try and take on israel. Israel will totally destroy the area of Palestine within a few weeks if no cease fire agreement is reached.

    She's gone but not forgotten.
Someone needs to make up a bunch of signs saying "We're too stupid to know if you keep poking a big dog with a little stick long enough eventually you're gonna get bit" and hand them out to these "protesters". Bunch of morons.

Protesting isnt going to change a thing and the fighting in the Mid-East isnt going to end.
When you have 2 groups who think that its their God-given right to that piece of land, you will never be able to work things out by diplomacy. Both sides think they are right and are never going to give an inch, so peace is impossible.
I say let them kill each other. They dont want peace and nothing we or anyone else does is going to make them get along.
