I've been looking at the S&W M&P15 and wanted to know if anybody had one and could shed some light on em. LETS KEEP THIS POST TO THE S&W AR PLATFORM PLEASE. Any input would be helpful.

I was recently issued one for a Patrol Rifle. I carried my own personal Bushmaster before it. Mine has the Magpul CTR stock and handguards. I honestly can't tell much of a difference, but it is lighter than my Bushy. Some guys were having trouble with their charging handles rubbing and causing excessive wear on them in the 4 day class we were in. Mine had no issues though.

How was the grouping with the rifle. I'm not looking for a precision shooter but something substantially better than my bulgarain ak74.

After getting it zero'd in, I was keeping everything with in a 3/4 inch group at 25 meters, from a prone position. Haven't shot it at distance yet.

I have done research in the past, when I still had money, on which AR platform to buy. The S&W came out pretty good compared. You'll find issues with every manufacturer though, so it's really 'what feels right' once you pick one from the top 5 manufacturers out there.

I shot a few last weekend for an Army Marksmanship Unit training session, and I liked them. I have a RRA and I didn't notice much difference. It may be a little lighter depending on the model that you get, but with all the optics / rails / etc that was on it, I couldn't make a judgement call on that. It did shoot pretty well though.

I got the RRA because of my budget, but if you have some extra cash, I think S&W did it right...

I just bought one a couple weeks ago. It eats ammo, no matter the brand or type, no problem. I got the Optics Ready model for the ease of modifications. I got the 5.56 with the 1/9 twist.

On accuracy, I haven't gone and gotten any high quality ammo yet, but with the cheap .223 ammo, sandbagged out, I could keep a group at 50 ft within 1". At 100 ft I could get about the same result. Again, keep in mind I was using cheap ammo, also I was using an Eotech, not a scope.

I'm confident, though, if I scoped it and got the best 5.56 ammo I would get almost flawless results. Any more questions ask away.

3" suspension lift (ToyTec coilovers and wheeler leafs), Yakima roof rack, ARE tonneau, K&N FIPK.
Nevada Troopers were just issued these with EOTech sights. I've put about 1000 rounds through mine. It's superior to my Bushmaster.

Haven't heard of it. Might be a promotional thing just around the bases. Been out for a while, so that's not in my neck of the woods.

No it was my bad i thought i updated that it was only 100 bucks sorry for the confusion. I have a special near me that add a tad bit of saving since guns are retardedly priced in maryland. But hey its 100 bucks.

I got mine last fall. I've put around 1500 rounds through it. Very smooth and no issues. Very satisfied with the purchase.

    Here's a link to the gun I have... It's SKU # 811000

    http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/...57785_757784_757784_ProductDisplayErrorView_Y

It's just an inexpensive barska scope I got from cabelas for plinking. I'd love to upgrade to a Trijocon but those scopes are more expensive than the gun. Hard to throw that much dough down.

I've since went back to using the carrying handle/iron sights for plinking for pure peace of mind portability.

With Tax I paid ~ $1176.99. But I got two rebates, one from Cabelas, and one from s&w. So I tell myself I paid less than a grand for it.
