I've looked and I cannot find a picture of this TRD emblem on the tailgate of a 1st gen Tacoma. I was just wondering how it would look since I might try it out. Also, I was wondering how 2nd gen badges would look on the tailgate too.

I don't think you should disgrace your 1st Gen with something from a 2nd Gen. Why would you want to bring it down to the 2nd Gen level?

plus ive been looking for the original 1st gen badges but they cost way too much and are hard as hell to find, so i thought i would just make it easier on my self and upgrade to the 2nd gen badges without breaking the bank

I know this thread is a little old but I was wondering if you could post pics of the "Tacoma" badge on your doors. I'm about to put mine on but I'm unsure whether to place them on the top side of the door under the mirror like the stock badges, or put them just above the body line like the Gen 2's. It would help out alot, thanks. Also I like your Gen 2 placement on the tailgate. Think that's what I'm going to do.

I've got that TRD one on my Grillcraft grill. Put it on the lower right hand corner. Looks really clean and neat!

It's your truck, do what makes you happy. If someone wants to put a decal on their truck saying "i take it up where the sun dont shine" and it makes them happy, good for them.
