I'm considering getting some tints too... I'm in NJ so the front and windshield has to stay bare, but I want to go darker on the access cab doors and rear windshield... How much are you guys paying for your tints? I haven't called around for prices yet but I wanted to know what to expect

I have 20% on my fronts and stock on the rears. Awhile back one of the deputies was at the station and I tested the front windows with that tint check thing and they darkened to 14%. I like it!!!

Maybe 35% film but the actual transmission is less unless it's a shopped photo (or just not representative of the tint in person). 35% film over the factory windows will still be something like 20% light transmission, and dark enough for a ticket. Not hating, I think it looks great and that's what I plan to do as well but just FYI that saying it's 35% tint probably won't get you out of a ticket unless the cop's having a good day. Don't know about where you live but the cops around here have light meters and they love to give tickets. I'm doing it anyway. :D

You know what man - I take it back - the backs do look darker than the front, so they maybe are 35. Who am I to call someone else out on their pics? Looks good either way. The 35's I've seen in person aren't as dark as I would like, but I understand the desire to keep it legal.

5% Front strip and doors, 20% wrapped around the rest of the truck.
Say having 20% on the front to match the stock rear tint can u add another say 20% or 35% to get it close to 5% or would u have to strip n redo the whole truck so in other words can u put tint on tint? And would the 35% or 20% equal close to 5 or would it be darker?

Yeah but what about the tint on the front windows? Can u wrap another layer in that or have to strip n go darker?

The guy that did it had a light meter or whatever its called. When he put it on it read 35 and I think the cops will give up to 2% over. I only posted the pics that made the fronts look dark. In person you can tell the difference between the two. I would have liked to have matched but I dont want to deal with the hassle of getting pulled over. When he put the meter on the back ones that actually read 35 on the dot. I dont know what he used on the fronts I know he said the fronts, even though they are clear, have a little tint to them factory.
