so I buy this killer flatscreen TV and I get suckered into the "calibration" for $200. I figure for that price these guys probably do an impressive setup.
WRONG! Fancy laptop and several hookups and a sensor to the screen-meh.
The out of box settings were better than this.
    Bleeding reds
    too much blues
greens where there shouldn't be greens
    dull pic
no depth, no edges, and EVERYONE'S faces are red.
I did far better mixes in "movie" and "natural" modes that rendered the "calibrations" useless.
No refunds on "services" so they offer to have a guy come out AGAIN and try to re adjust to my like. Great. So now for my $200 I will have a third mode with my preferences? What a rip-I really expected "impressive perfection" beyond wht a layman like me could do. What a disappointment. So-
I advise not to waste your money like I did-IMO it's bull.
Can someone advise me what I can do to maybe get some of that money back?

You should have just spent $40 on the Spears and Munsil calibration Bluray and done it yourself .

If you paid using a credit card, call the CC company and ask for a 'chargeback', and you'll have to explain how you got ripped, but they usually take care of it. It then puts the burden on the retailer to 'prove' they provided you with something of value.

Chris my own setups are phenominal-you guys know with a few tweeks these TVs do all the work to bring realism.
So I'm SOL. Why was I so lame to go for that thing?

I'd be losing it on them until I get my money back.
they are trying to take money out of your pocket for a service that they can't actually do properly, that is bull shit!

go in to the store and don't leave until you have your money back.

This is what I am thinking-they aren't going to like it. Either this or they're coming out to my place every week till I think I got $200 worth out of them :)

I "know" someone that works there.

Unfortunately you will probably only get store credit back.

You need to talk to the manager and raise your voice enough for other customers to hear.

ok I would be happy to even get "some" money back store credit is fine. They really shouldn't charge that kind of cash unless you get a stellar setup IMO. Thanks all for the advice:)

Gees but I am in love with this TV! I can just set there and watch it just for the unbelievable realism. Still haven't gotten used to it:)
