If your going for looks only then you could get away with it, but if you wheel and ive seen your video then sooner or later its gonna hit something and bend/break something else. I just helped a buddy put one on his 2010 dodge ram it looks good but only had 4 bolts supporting it so if he hits something its gonna bend back into his bumper.....

pros:
inexpensive way to change the look of your truck
can mount lights
lightweight, wont hurt MPGs very much

cons:
hurts approach angles (if you wheel)
ugly (to some (its all relative))
will not provide any protection in a crash
make the front look lower

 

Ya, I never really looked at one up close. I bet it lowers the front end clearance as well. I mean. I kinda like the look, but my front bumper is already banged up as it is.I could only imagine how much approach angles are with it on. Ill probably murder that bull bar by this Sat. lol

 

I myself think they are OK looking if they are black not the greatest thing in the world but just another opinion... Otherwise a FOR SURE NO!

I think it depends on the type. The Avid Off Road one is pretty nice IMO.

 

personal opinion, i love a bull bar. over time i might get one myself. lots of people on here don't though. . . maybe its a left over effect from high school where everybody had one and we would bump into each others trucks at stop signs and stuff that makes me like them haha. . .and with as much plastic is on vehicles, including our trucks nowadays, it will help a lot if you hit a deer (also something big in my area)

 

I'd say got for a straight up light bar or something like the Avid, it'll give you decent protection, looks good IMO, good place to mount lights, and it doesn't look like you're driving a Pep Boys special.

I say yes on the bull bar. Its no uglier than the Avid.

 

I don't care for them, but they don't serve any purpose other than looks. I like the avid, it is much beefier (serves a purpose) and doesn't hurt approach angles.

 

I'm not a fan of the hoop bullbars, and I actually don't like the looks of the Avid either. I like the looks of the Westin brush-style guards, but they cause more damage than they prevent. I'm basically set on leaving it stock unless I go the plate bumper route.
