If you guys are expecting to go someplace and beat the crap out of your trucks and potentially break something then you will be very disappointed in anyplace I take you. I don't go out for that purpose. Nor do I go out to tear up the land, we will stay on designated roads and trails. I don't care where we go as long as its safe for stock vehicles and that someone in the group has been there before. Going into an area blind is just not safe; especially this time of year when we don't know what sort of conditions we will run into. I'm open to ideas from everyone but we need at least one person that is familiar with the lay of the land and a 100% guarantee that that person will be attending.

Might not be the ideal setup for the Summer Meet (which I agree with what Lisa said about just easy going, meet up, and not trying to tear up equipment) but it still looks cool and it really wouldnt be hard to say hey, whoever wants to go do this...meet in Darby at X time on X date.

I highly doubt being a main forest service road that you MUST have a lift, and a winch, and full-blown rock crawler to do this... My truck is bone stock...it'll be just fine. If it gets bad and I know I cant make it, I turn and come back. Too easy!

there are some other roads, out the west fork that look like they drop down into idaho near a hot spring that I remember as a kid which I do not know if its still there or not.

I would very much be down to do this someday... I really want to get back over there as that is exactly where I worked this summer. Beautiful country. If anyone decides to do it, keep me in touch.

Just throwing that trip out there as a suggestion.

It's not a fire road that can be done in 2wd but it can be completed by any well maintained 4wd. I think it would be a good challenge for those looking for a little more than a two track forest service road, and it should keep those looking for more of a "challenge" entertained

With a fairly large group (6+) you never know what could happen so that adds to the fun. I'd say the one of the biggest issues to worry about is good tires and a carrying full size spare.

The trail has great views, is a good challenge for people and vehicles, and has a lot of history behind it. If you guys get a chance, do some research on the history.

The difference between and dilemma and an adventure is your attitude.

    Any idea on area yet?
We are starting to cut it close for me and I am not sure if I can make it anymore if we don't nail this down soon unfortunately. Also, how much wheelin are we going to be doing? I mean a stock truck can do mud and stuff and and I think we should at least have some fun for those that want to. I think forest roads and stuff will be too boring, but thats obviously personal taste. I just vote that if I am going to make a long drive, it should be a good spot where there is a little of everything for everyone where you can push your truck if you want and don't have to if you don't want to.

hang on...let me dig my maps out... ...I know they are here...somewhere....

I'm actually going to try and scout out one spot Monday just to see what the snow situation is like. That's my main worry right now...
