What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Ya i just gave it a light blow over to remove the light dust.

 

I bet you had to replace MAF sensor cause of the K&N oil gunkin every thing up. Ask me how I know

 

Don't put so much on Ive had K&N filters for years and never harmed a MAF sensor.

I wasnt the one who cleaned it. the guy who did it still pisses me off to this day. my truck hasnt ran the same with the new maf. i need a new 02 sensor tho so that may be part of the issue.

 

after upgrading the rear suspension i figured id need some shocks with a bit more travel so today i removed my 5100s and took some measurements(using http://www.bajataco.com/travel-measurement.html )to see what id need and it turns out the the 5100s max out at about 1/8'' after the truck does so i dont need new ones after all.

 

where did you relocate it too?

 

Well on top of everything else thats breaking down, my starter celenoid pooped out. Good ol hammer did the job. Time for a new one i guess.

 

Put my front diff drop in, painted my skids, plasti-dipped my fender flairs. And ordered a wicked flows muffler, yeah buddy.

 

let us know how you like the muffler. i got a 3.4 as well and really interested in more videos with it and that engine. might be ordering one soon as well

 

I went with the jba system and hated it for a long time but 8 months later it's starting to sound better and better. Just throwing that out there if youre looking for a muffler/exhaust system

 

yeah my dynomax sounds way better now than it did when new.

Finished my wheels and cleaned it up. Put my TRD tag frame on the back. Thinking bout ordering one for the front. I've got a grille insert to put on the top and bottom, but I'm worried bout cutting the stock grille. Is it hard to do? And What's the best way the make the bumpers black and will a allpro bumper make the height in the front go down much?

 

Alright sure thing...I'll be doing a build page in not too long so I'll have some vids of the exhaust by then.

 

Changed my spark plugs on my 4 cyl. And i have to say getting that resenator off the air intake was a b*tch. It made me so mad!! But other than that an easy change, and it seems to idle better now.

Well, spent multiple hours doing a handful of things to the truck yesterday

1) Rear dif breather mod
2) Deck Plate mod
3) Dropped the skid plates and cleaned them and above them
4) Removed front wheels and got a better look at susp parts/cleaned them
5) Cleaned about a 5 gal pail of dried mud off from the under body.
5.5) Learned to stay out of the mud... for awhile

 

Whipped up a quicky slider shelf for the Brahma canopy rails. used a old section of sturdy door from a single wide moble home and then some cheap 1x4" pine for catch rails,,eye bolts on the tops of both catch rails so bungies can hold stuff down. Shelf is held from moving back and fourth with hd spring clamps. total money invested,,about $15
