ok heres the newest discovery,my dash lights have been screwing up ever since I bought this beast so, I'm narrowing down the problem.now I figure out that they only work when the ignition is on.this leads me to believe that when the Jvc cd player /radio was installed the guy obviously screwed up.so to recap: the dimmer/Rheostat doesn't function at all.lights only work when key is on,they function eratically(only when they want to),very dim climate control panel,oh yeah and there is this orange wire that loks like it came out of a connector, hanging unconnected just under the Dimmer knob.any Gurus to the rescue on this mess????:confused:

Did you have someone install the JVC or did you buy it like that? I would take out the radio and put back in a stock one, to determine if that is the problem.

Seems like this problem is coming up a lot lately. Some are having success with just changing out the rheostat and others are saying it was a faulty install of the aftermarket head unit. If I remember correctly, you do not want to have that orange wire from the headunit connected. Maybe the person who installed it, tried to connect it to the rheostat and fried the rheostat.
