TL Retro!!

Finally nutted up and attempted my first retro. Took me and a buddy 12 hours to complete and I still have to do some adjusting but here are some pics from my iPhone 4.

TL projectors with clear ZKW lenses
35 watt ballast
Orsam 4300k bulbs
E-46 extended shrouds

Not yet, didn't finish till about 11:30PM so it was completely dark. Hopefully, tomorrow I'll get some daytime pics tomorrow.

Yea I know. Finals and everything are bogging me down. I've been needing to do one for a while now. Maybe steal the girlfriend's camera and go do a photo shoot tomorrow.

Hopefully I'll get some pictures up tomorrow. I didn't take any build pics, but i'll get some close ones so you can tell. TL projectors were a pain in the ass in cover since the solenoid is so big and long.

 

nice... I am going with the same combo (tl zkw-r combo), but might run 50w in the projectors.

modded apollo or gatlink shrouds though.

 

ooooooah I got the e46 extended shrouds as well and was deciding between painting everything black or just the reflector and not the shroud for contrast but that looks good.

very nice... I just got my spare headlights yesterday and this gets me all fired up for the retro. I think i'm gonna add some white in there with the bhlm.

 

Nice choice in projectors! I've got the same on my truck. They look like they are aimed way to high though. Try to get a picture 20ft or so away from a wall on a flat surface.

 

yea the pick was taken about 10 ft from the garage door. i just matched them with the cutoff of my stock lights, hence where the tape is one the wall. I probably need to lower them down a little, but I also have a 6" lift so it makes them higher to begin with.

 

nice dude, good work! interested in more info on what you used on the bottom of that shroud to hide the solenoid. the solenoid motor on the TLs are so hard to hide, but looks like you did a very nice job on that part!

 

I ordered Apollo shrouds too so basically hacked them up into a shape and epoxied them to the bottom. I can work a dremel so I just massaged it till it fit the curves I liked plus I painted the wires and bottom on solenoid too!

 

Getting them aligned little by little. Oh so sexy

Great job!! Retro headlights are the only way to go. Still my favorite mod.
