Did anyone happen to watch "The Daily Show" or "The Colbert Report" last night? Colbert officially declared that he will run for the Presidency.... in South Carolina. As you may or may not know, Colbert is a SC native (Charleston i think but i'm not sure). Last night on the two programs he mentioned the great state of SC multiple times as well as referencing the Cocks and the Tigers. Based on his announcement, i think he really is running, but i'm not sure if he will actually be a presidential candiate. I think he is going to run in SC to see how it goes then depending on how many delegates he gets (this is where the political process gets blurry for me) he may consider actually running for president. Either way, I'll definately vote for him. BTW, on the show he actually dared any other candidate to pander to SC more than he would. He promised to do anything for SC. So Texas.... you're bout to be screwed!!!

P.S. If you didnt see it last night, try to catch it tonight at 7, it was funny as hell.

I typically vote for a party not for the actual candidate, which means i dont necessarly like the candidate i'm voting for. I would love to vote for someone i like for a change. I agree though, i dont think he would get far. However, he is very well spoken, quick and witty, i think he would mop the floor ina debate. It would be hard to corner him or knock him off guard. Plus if we had a SC prez we could stick it to the Texans every day!

That would be a welcome change having a non-texan president sticking it to texas. I have a bumper sticker on my 02 taco for the presidential campaign of Stewart for president and Colbert for Vice, and I can't even vote in the states but would in a heartbeat vote for that pair, it would be odd to see intelligence in office for a change...all the better Colbert is a Carolinan

ITS A PROUD DAY FOR TEXAS!
Texas basher Colbert gets kicked in the nuts by those near and dear camo wearing hicks. - Hee haw Evening Post.

Stephen Colbert seen swimming vigorously in shark infested Atlantic Ocean towards pile of crap the size of Texas possibly seeking refuge in the pile of crap, reports Canadian Press :canada:. (Canadian news rocks man)

To add insult to injury, Canada rejects refugee status to loud mouth talk show host Stephen Colbert after insulting defeat on home turf, reports The Dallas Observer.

Stephen Colbert to move into Never Never Land with Michael Jackson . Reports the Northern Alliance Post.

What a damn shame. I feel for the Alliance nd because there is no such thing. My heart bleeds for you man. I wish I was there for you in this moment of pain.

What to do now? You should regroup your troops and invade Never Never Land instead of Texas. That is the most logical thing to do if you ask us Canadians.

Actually, he didn't...he said last night that he wasn't going to pay the $35,000 entry fee for the Republican Primary here because anything over $5,000 in campaign spending, and "all sorts of election laws apply to [him]."

On a lighter note, he tried to "stick it" to SC by eating a GA peach on TV last night, and had to spit it out because "it taste[d] like Ted Turner's ass."

i'm so sad, i would have loved to vote for a candidate that reffered to Texas as "a pile of debris the size of texas". I'm gonna get drunk.... :(

You could still write him in...but with electronic voting booths, etc., that takes way too much time...
