    UPDATED with print out!

First.. I did use the good ol' Search button. There were many threads who all danced around my question, but none that hit it on the head. (that I could find)

    So, now to my delemma....
I got my 5100s @.85 and Eibach lift combo put on, and mounted my 285/70/17s on my 5bs rim (i know 4.5 is ideal). I was forced to do the usual trimming of fenders, and eventually was going to chop the Cab mount to eliminate rubbing in reverse.

I took my truck in to have an alignment done today at my local tire shop.
I was forced to take off my 285 and put my 265/65s back on because the place didnt want to put my rims on the machine and possibly mess them up.
After the alignment, I now rub the cab mount on the drivers side very hard on any large turn. The Pass side isnt quite as bad, but I still rub a little on large turns. (I did not have this issue pre-alignment, was only going over bumps in reverse that I rubbed):frusty:

    Here are my numbers:
    Alignment_28633db9cd0a55819d52cb97ce5a938eb5076306.jpg

What if anything can I do to help solve this? (besides chopping the cab mount, that will come) Since it didnt do it before, I have to assume its something to do with the alignment. I dont understand it well enough to know what to ask if I take it back.
Do I need more lift? I could add a 1/4 spacer on top of the 5100/Eibachs to get another .5" of lift I guess.

Your caster looks awefully low. should be 2.4* positive or so. would like to see the print out. ask them to add more caster. When caster is added from the bottom you will gain body mount/rear wheel well clearance. Looks like they took out caster. at only 0.85" of lift you should easily be able to get the caster within spec.

I'll toss the print out up after I get home, but I have a little bit more then .85 of lift. I have the Eibach coils and 5100s set @.85, so I'm right around 2-2.4" of lift

ahhh ok.. well you should still be able to get more caster out of it. Im surprised youre not wandering all over the freeway on that small amount of caster. a lot of these alignment shops that hire kids dont have a clue as to how to correctly align it.

Figured as much, but what can I tell them to work on in hopes of eliminating the new Rub?

From what I can gather from here, Toe & Camber @0 and Caster @2.0-2.4 are the "ideal" settings correct?

Nothing you can really tell them, nor can they do anything unless you get new UCA's to add caster back.

I agree. I have that set up, and before I installed my UCA's I was able to get a way better alignment. It may be in their "specs" but it's shitty. Tell them to get the caster higher, and the camber lower. Not every truck is the same, but I was able to get at least 1.9 caster, and 0.6 camber with mine...that would be a huge improvement over the butcher job they did on yours.

You were able to get a better alignment BEFORE you got new UCA's ?

I was planning on upgrading the UCAs, but pre-alignment it wasnt rubbing like it is now. Were my #s better pre-alignment?

Better then what he's got. I had 1.9/2.08 caster, 0.6 camber before I installed my UCA's. It was okay, but felt loose in the wheel, and the high camber looked goofy from the front...so it annoyed me.

I like my Light Racing UCAs. They were $370 at Fat Bobs Garage...

i think you're rubbing now as opposed to before because you have less caster now. if you add caster (which is what you should ask them to do, becuase you're nowhere close to being in spec...and i'm sure you have "some" to add...even if it's not a lot), the wheel should move forward in the wheel well, and you won't rub on that cab mount anymore.

take it back to them...basically with that much camber, you should be able to get your caster to at least 1.5 or so.

There's a give and take w/ regards to camber and caster. You ideally want zero camber, but if you do that, you won't have any caster. If they keep your camber at around 1.0 or thereabouts, they should be able to get your caster back to normal which should alleviate the wheel rubbing.

Looks to me like the set the toe and ignored the caster/camber. take it back and make them fix it. camber should be closer to 0* and caster should be 2.5* or so with a little difference between the two for tracking.

would adding a small amount of additional lift help at all? I could toss a 1/4 spacer on top of the 5100s I guess

No more lift will make it worse as you would have to lose more caster to get your camber correct. YOu really just need to take it back and have them fix the caster, they should easily be able to get close to 2* which should solve your rubbing.

Thanks for the info, I've got an appointment Monday afternoon to see what they can do. Hopefully they try and fix it rather then be a jackass.

That's not an alignment, that's misalignment. The actual looks just a different bad afterwards. I personally would not have paid or left the shop with numbers like that. Never pay until you see this sheet. Good luck with do over.

.05 toe, 0 camber & 2.5 caster. Go in and TELL them what actual specs you will pay for. My shit wasn't that far off when I did trial and error by sight alignment on my old truck.
