Powertrax no slip

Planning on ordering one of these in the next week. I was just wondering where everyone has ordered them from. The cheapest ive found so far is $434 from Northern Auto parts. The part number for a 2001 prerunner v6 is a 92-2080-3002 right?

FWIW, i have heard the noslip is way smoother than the lockright but just as good offroad. also, in an automatic the auto locker is not loaded as much as the manual. so instead of having to let off the gas and push in the clutch, the auto will "un-bind" the drive train just by letting off the gas since there is slip in an auto tranny

And its really not that bad around town, i cant throttle too much through corners. But getting used to the locker is not that bad. And it works greats!! And really easy install.

You will have to change your driving style a little bit, but in a week or 2 you will be used to it. And your truck will have more backlash, so be sure to use your parking brake. And you will feel the loading and unloading of the rear suspension, but you get used to it.



Oh and Rocky-road.com is cheapest. At $410, and shipping isnt bad either.

 

yea i already drive pretty easy anyway to get better gas mileage, i rarely get above 2,000 rpms and i have the auto tranny so i think it will be fine thanks for the info and the prices though ill check those out this afternoon

 

I just ordered it from Rocky Road. Im cant wait for its arrival, anyone whose ordered from them have any idea of how long it will take?

 

it kinda lets off but some times will engage at random times. usually up a hill while turning or on loose surfaces. off road help out a ton. road manners are pretty good. the only really tiff i have about it is that increases your backlash (drivetrain slack) considerably. doesn't affect the pinion adjustments its just that the locker its self isnt as "tight" as the spider gears you will remove.

 

Mine took about a month and a half, but its cause Richmond Gear had parts on backorder. So if them parts aren't on backorder it will be there in 2 weeks.

 

ok shit i was about to flip if it was goin take a month and a half, i didnt order it from them though, i got it from rocky road im hoping its here before my graduation, so i can but it on the monday after i graduate

 

No i ordered it from Rocky Road too, but richmond gear is who makes it.

I called Rocky road and they called Richmond gear. Thats how i found out, and its an awesome locker, i have taken my truck places i never would have thought, and run trails i never would have thought about being open diff. And its not bad at all on the street, more backlash which makes for more let off of the rear suspension when you let off the gas, but you get used to it, and it is harsher shifts, but its nice.

well i ordered it about 2 and a half weeks ago and its still not here. Rocky road cant tell me when it will get here because they never even see it. richmond gear told me that they couldnt give me any info about it. I really wouldnt care if i could track the damn thing!

 

got here yesterday finally! I goin start the install tomorrow at 5am anyone have any tips besides the usual like having a vice and impact tools?
