Recommendations on Component Speaker set for 2006 Tacoma Access Cab

I have a 2006 Tacoma Access Cab. I'm looking to upgrade the headunit, but I'm pretty sure I know what I want there. I'm looking to upgrade the 6.5" + tweeters up front, and the 6x9"s in the rear. I may use a plate to adapt the 6x9" holes to 6.5", and just buy two component sets, and just not use the tweeters for the rear. I want to keep it as factory as possible. I have options, but are limited to these brands, because I have accommodations through these specific brands.

I wouldn't be against other brands, if the cost can be kept under $300 for all speakers, since that's about what it would cost for the brands I've specified.

I listen to 95% rock/alternative and just a little bit a country.
I want good bass from the 6.5", because I don't want any subs. I'm trying to keep as much functionality of my truck as possible and I want to keep it as factory looking as possible. The 4 channel amp has to also be hidden (I.E. under a seat).

Does anyone have any recommendations for this scope of limitations?

I was thinking possibly Type R components or Infinity Kappa Perfects, but I'm still not sure.

Also would the 6.5" woofers in the rear be pointless or would they help at all? I also plan on sound deadening the doors and floor more than likely.

I know people ask this question all the time, but I would like more input from the brands I have choices of, and how they sound in the Tacoma if possible.

Any input would we EXTREMELY helpful in my decision.

 

Id put the money toward just front components if limited by that much financially. I will dis-reccomend Polk. I dont like any of their gear vs other gear at the same price.

THere is no point in sound deadening the floor if you are only using vibration dampner. THe floor is covered in vibration dampener from the factory.

My #1 reccomendation is to buy only what you can listen to and like the best.

I can get these models if this helps. These are the prices and options I have found sound far. I'll be updating this post later with more options.

So definitely wanna sound deaden the doors. I would like remove some road noise when I'm driving while helping sound quality, so that's why I was wanted to do the floor too. Maybe sound deadening wasn't the right term for that. Does anyone know a product that would work good for the floor to help with that?

I'm not so limited on the funds. I just don't see a point going to another brand if I can save myself hundreds going thru a company accommodated brand is all.

Also would I not get better bass by having rear fill from just a 2nd component set minus the tweeter in the back? I'm ok with buying a second set of the same component speakers, I just want to know if it would be worth it.

I've listened to the Alpine Type R and Kappa Perfect subs and was impressed, so I would hope the components would be as impressive. Nothing from Kenwood, Pioneer, or Polk has really impressed me so I guess they are out.

I have only heard the Jbl GTO, alpines, and infinitys out of the speakers you listed. Since it seems that you want more bass, I would go with the JBL GTO. This is my recommendation, but you need to audition the speakers before you buy them because something I like may be completely different from something you like.

The better you seal and sound deaden the doors, the better sound you will achieve from the speakers. You also need solid mounting baffles to mount the speakers to the door. On the floor you will need mass loaded vinyl coupled with a closed cell foam in order to block noise. CLD tiles are meant to reduce vibration and will only block limited amounts of noise.

You would be better off focusing on the front doors instead of running just the midbass speaker in the rear doors. The front speakers will do most of the work in the system, so in my opinion this is a waste of money.

If you were impressed with the subs from the companies then you may end up wanting a sub. You will get nowhere near the output of a sub with a 6.5in component set.
