    8. Are yellow fog lights really better than white or blue ones?

[IMG]The old wives' tale that yellow fog lights give you greater visibility over white or blue ones is just not true. The premise of that superstition, that yellow light waves are long enough to pass through water particles without reflecting back into the driver's eyes, is based on a misinterpretation of Lord Rayleigh's principle of light scattering. As it turns out, the water particles in fog and mist are entirely too large to have an effect on any light waves from fog lights, be they yellow, white, blue or even green. In other words, any fog light that is properly mounted and aimed is effective, so don't worry about the color (colour).

Just a tad of input, if care is in the air.

    1. Fog does go all the way to the ground until it starts to lift/burn off.

    2. ALL headlights are strongest in the center as they shine; getting such a bad glare that you find it hard to see... now you know what the rest of us driving towards you feel like. Lower your darn lights (simple Trig.). Pointing them higher only pisses people off. They are not shooting light like a bow shoots an arrow, you get no better distance.

    3. Stop looking into the light.

    4. Put a rotor on your Tacoma so you can fly above the fog (does not work in snow).

    5. Drive slower and accept that some fog is to thick for fog lights.

This all was based off of years spent driving in WISCONSIN (GO BADGERS) and other parts of the nation and world that have fog. However, I have not attempted the rotor thing. Just works with a heli so seems logical. I am not responsible for death or injuries, either physical, mental, financial and/or anything not mentioned.
