as far as running the ARB from your Viar:
I have spoken with several people about this because I too have the Viair constant duty, the general consensus is that you will want to run your locker off of an ARB compressor.

What I plan on doing is having my OBA strictly for Tires/tools, and adding an additional ARB compressor for my front locker.

Why would you need another air compressor. If you use the air supply with a tank the comperssor will work less with a locker. compared to having a compressor on the locker. and besides you only engage the locker when you need it.....
But they may be talking about the duty cycle of your compressor.

Ex. I have the extreme duty with the 150psi 100% duty cycle comp. that with a tank would be more than enough air to run a locker.
and then when you get back to the stage area use the air for tools and tires!

    Thats just my 2cents. :)

definatly do-able.. nothing is impossible, and it is very possible to run the locker from the viair. But the arb locker works flawlessly with the arb compressor, and combine they are a solid tool. All the connectors are perfect etc...

With the Viair it will take some jimmy rigging is all.

I see what are your saying but was is there to jimmy rig?
I mean if you use good hose and good connectors with the ARB soliniod there should be no issues thats all no point in wasting money on 2 compressors thats all im saying because like me most of us are on a tight budget. :D

yes sir, tight budget here too.. My gears + install and locker is like 2100, the ARB compressor is like 100 so I might as well just pay 2200 and have a devoted locker system, but thats my case and wayyy off topic from silver07taco's build... Ill shut up now

When I fill the tank Ill have the box open or when I fill my tires, But when I am goin to be running the locker Ill be able to keep it shut since the compressor wont be running long.

I dont think your goin to have to run two compressors an air locker dosent need to much to work.

how does it work, so the compressor fills the tank, once the tank gets low, I turn on the compressor again and fill it back up?? how much air does the locker take??

final question: do you have the Constant duty viair? or what

Youll fill the tank to what ever your pressure switch is set for then the compressor will shut off then when it get low the compressor will turn back on.

I dont really know what it takes to run the locker cant be much it just moves one piece side to side.

I belive I have the light duty set up 85psi on 105 off, But my compressor can work up to 130psi

The comp has a pressure switch which controls the pressure in the tank.
Ex. Mine turns on anytime its under 110psi and Off at 150psi.

the ARB locker requires 100psi to run. but its not like and air tool the expends the air so it will release the air then its disengaged. so the next time you lock you would need 100+ psi in the tank.

Also this is the Kit I installed.

I noticed too that you put your switch and guage in your toolbox by the compressor, why did you not mount it in the cockpit?

hmm.. I know its possible to run the locker without a tank, and the compressor will just turn on when the locker is engaged.... Actually I dont know this, but from seeing people use theirs this is what I have determined

I have an on/off in the cab and the pressure switch and gauge in the box so it close to the compressor.
