could have had an RCD drop bracket. if you haven't seen one in person, it's a very low profile DB. easy to miss.

bent it maybe? a friend of mine/member here bent his stock skid and drilled new holes so he could attach it to his RCD DB. tore it off real quick though wheeling (lots of rocks in VA).

this is my buddie's truck from back home. he's running the rcd, originally with the 4.5in lift billstien 5100s from down south motorsports. however, this past summer i helped him swap those out for the 6 inch lift Icon 2.5s. with the 6 inch lift shocks on the 4.5 inch drop bracket, he's got the high center clearance of a 6 inch drop bracket lift, but the clearance of a 3 suspension lift under the front diff (which is higher than a 6inch DB has). so pretty much the best of both worlds. oh, and he's running 35s with zero rubbing, and didn't even have to chop the cab mount. if i were ever to drop bracket a truck, i'd do it just like his.

this is a mod day last summer when he still had the billies

they're for the trailer, not the truck by the way.

gonna build up a 2500 or 3500 lb axle with some nice hubs, and the trailer will be almost ready. the tires on those wheels will do for now, but very soon, i'll be getting some MTs for them from treadwright. http://www.treadwright.com/c-16-285-75r16.aspx either 285s or 265s. if i go with the 285s, it'll be one of the first two tires in that link.

i know retreads are usually frowned upon, but i've heard nothing but good things about this company. a few guys my land rover friend wheels with actually use them on their daily drivers. said they wear out a little faster, but haven't had a blowout after 3 sets.
i personally don't know if i'd use them on the truck because if it did happen to fail, it can get bad, but i've had a tire blow on the trailer holding our 6000lb boat, and if it weren't for the explosion noise it made, i wouldn't have noticed, so i'm completely comfortable running them on a 4x8 trailer.

    It wasn't THAT bad...for a trailer I'm sure they'd have enough tread.
    The spare had 100% tread.
I'd say near same condition as the ones your buying now just smaller.

Since I'm done with finals, I plan on going to the hobby shop at NAS Jax Sunday or Monday (5/8/11) to finally put the coil over spacers and AALs in. I've only had them sitting around for 4 months now. NBD. I want to paint my rims and badges too this wkend. We'll see how it works out. :D:D:D:D

got the wheels and tires this morning and just finished painting them. they're only stock size for tacomas, but for the trailer, they're huge :)

best part is that the bolt pattern is 6 on 5.5, so they are interchangable with the truck, meaning i'll have an abundent supply of spares off roading when ihave the trailer.

    pictures:

    how i got them

and here's the difference on the spare tire mount....

and tomorrow i'm going to start on the siding and roof. it's nearing completion :)

    Trailer looks badass!!

Question: I finished with my plans early and I have about 3-3.5 hrs before the sun goes down. Do you think that's enough time to bedline my rims? I'm not sure how long the dry time is.
