    curious - why wouldnt you use a mig welder to make rock sliders. I can mig 3/4 inch steel with a single pass with my miller and it will be just as strong as if I did it with my stick welder.

    I would opt for weld on sliders over drilling holes in the frame. Weld on actually adds rigidity to the frame making it stronger whereas drilling holes although slight will weaken the frame. If you have to remove them all thats needed is a hand grinder with a cutting wheel and a grinding wheel.
