Today I took the girlfriend to Gardenridge a home furnishings superstore, after about 40 mins they paged a owner with a black toyota tacoma, my heart sank just two weeks ago I finished a complete install of a Mr Marv sub box and two amps, door speakers and Kenwood 7160 nav unit.

All they took was the nav unit, messed up my door and handle, busted my window screwed up interior dash and door panels, scratched up my steering wheel.

Left the kershaw knife in the cubby area and the ipod in the glove?

I'm 48 and I have never been hit before so I guess I shouldnt complain but it sucks big time.

You just cant work hard and have nice things.

I got insurance but will they pay for aftermarket stuff?
I figure the door dash pieces tinted window is gonna cost over a thousand.

Even if they did cover it I dont want this to happen again so I dont know if I want to get a equal system or not

    Just sucks

Yeah sorry OP. Was hit in college once. You feel totally violated and completely enraged. They probably sent scouts up and down the rows looking the goods. That's why I'll never install anything that doesn't have a removeable faceplate. As for insurance, it's up to the adjuster. Granted this was 20 years ago, but back then my insurance covered the deck as it was installed in the factory specified location (as was yours). They didn't cover my amp / eq because it was an add-on (not replacing OEM equipment, not installed in an OEM specified locale).

Dude that sux. It always amazes me when things like that happen in a crowded parking lot. People walk by and don't say anything until its all over then, someone tells an employee to make the announcement. Hope they get bit by the dog next time!!! That may be the only justice they get.

I would like to know as well. Didn't realize they had a Garden Ridge in Oak Cliff lol

To anyone wondering why they didn't take subs or anything else try and think like a thief for a moment. You're in a parking lot with other cars and other eyes. You have a VERY brief window where there aren't other people who can see you. You know the owner of the car is coming back soon but you don't know when. So it's clear your window of opportunity (no pun intended seriously) is very brief. You grab only what you can see through the window. Longer you hunt around in the vehicle the higher your chances of getting caught.
