I am looking at an 07 DC TRD Sport 4x4, with 19k miles a local lot. They offered me a decent price for my 08 Access Cab. The truck looks and runs fine. No damage, all panels have the proper vin, so I do not believe any body damage. Engine sounds fine, all fluids are clean, tire look good, etc. etc.

The only rub is that it is a lease repo. The dealer bought from Toyota at auction. My question is, is there anything to watch out for when buying a lease repo. The Carfax is a little funky as it shows one owner for 1 year 7 months and then a second owner for about 11 days. I looked at the title that the dealer had and it appears to be a clean Indiana title.

    Anything to be concerned about?

I think I'd ask the dealer to let you take to an impartial mechanic and get it looked over. You both have nothing to lose. Kind of wierd that there is a second owner for 11 days. An explanation from the dealer might help.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
the 11 day owner might be for it being taken from the original owner and being owned by someone until that auction

    It's the wife's T4R so it's stock
Is the second owner listed by name? Maybe you can find out if it's a dealer representative or something like that.

though not a truck but my brother bought a repo'd travel trailer and it is perfect and has no problems with. and also the both trucks should have the toyota warranty on them still.

Yep, get an independent, pre-purchase inspection by someone who knows Tacos.
Negotiate the cost with the seller.

I does appear the second owner is the dealer who has the truck. I checked the vin on Autocheck.com and it had more detail than Carfax.

Sounds like a sweet deal to me! Are you just getting the 07 because you want the Double Cab and the Sport Edition? Also does the 07 happen to have less miles then you're 08? Thats pretty low miles, warranty intact and everything! For being 2 years old, well not quite, it has relatively low miles, first owner probably babied it and im sure you will be fine. Just have a mechanic double check it and you will be fine

that's good --at least that question has been taken care of...

I've found that leased vehicles are typically babied and have low miles on them (to avoid paying over-mileage fees) so it sounds pretty good.

More for the DC than anything else, I have two little ones and they don't fit in the AC like I thought they would. Plus I need the increased towing capacity. 07 has about 8k miles more than my current truck. I like the sport edition looks, I don't off road much (if at all) so I figure I don't need the off road package.

Yeah you wont need the Offroad Edition then, plus the Sport does look way better even though its just a hood, haha. Also the LSD will help you in slippery conditions. Im only 21 but i bought a Double Cab just for the reason of kids. I know I will have kids sometime soon and figured I might as well do it right the first time, plus they look better IMO. You wont be sorry with the Sport, I actually drove an 07 the other night, a guy I know he wanted me to check if I knew what was wrong with his truck (basically nothing but he didnt know much about trucks) so i told him to take it into the dealer so his mind would be at ease. But good luck and Im sure it was babied if it was a leased vehicle as someone stated before.

Definitely have it looked at by a mechanic you trust. They will know to look for things like overspray (indicates paintwork, aka body damage) and other things you might not be aware of.

I have purchased a couple of repo vehicles and havent had an issue with either one. Also it appears as though the full factory warranty is still in effect for quite awhile. Thus if there are issues they should be repaired on Toyotas dime not yours. Good luck with the purchase.
