Go with these instead, I think they look better, and they actually function if you offroad.

I was looking for something a little different from what Westin offers... Actually they seemed more expensive for their version of this step. It looks like the mounting kit isn't included for their model

    Rick.
Love them... I think I have seen your truck before in another post or maybe cardomain and thought they looked wicked. Do you think a 4 yr old would have an issue trying to use them? That was my only concern. I would love to get those but I was wondering if the standard nerf bar would be easier for my little guy to climb up and down on..

    What are your thoughts?

    They look tuff as well.

What brand are they.. I think more than one manufacturer makes those... don't they?

    Kris,
I like the ones you posted best on this page.... I personally like the ones that curve into and i think even underneath the truck... (probably the westin ones hodge mentioned)

but the ones you posted look really cool.... i want to trade someone my running boards for some nerf bars.... i think, i am wishy washy on that one....

am i the only idiot here without running boards or step tubes?? i actually prefer having the lady friends have to jump into it haha and it's not even lifted yet! i'm afraid that if i put step tubes on it then she'll be able to reach her car keys when i hide them on the roof of my truck :D

I never used my running boards until my lift/bigger tires last week.....

i could just get in it no prob... now i have to use them :)

i like the look of no side step when the truck is lifted, gives it a more ground clearance look... if ur tall enough, keep it clean

thats the way i'm looking at it, i'm only 5'10 but i weigh only 150 so i can pretty much climb into anything haha, perhaps my excellent monkeying skills stem from my giant monkey hands and because i actually repelled out of my mothers vagina due to the simple fact that I WASN'T BORN, I WAS DEPLOYED! haha i thought of that earlier, funny huh :D

I'm not a big fan of anything that detracts from teh ground clearance, but i do love the sliders that jhodge origianlly had on his truck, i'd get a pair of those before i got nerf bars or step bars

I just got a set of Smittybilt bars and I love them. They look really sharp and were super easy to install. 4wheelparts has them for $50 off so they are only $220. They bolt in with 3 brackets that are not very obvious (for brackets) and they look really sharp. Also, according to the sales guy at 4wheelparts to get the Westins with the same thickness of stainless steel they are about 350.

(only took an hour to install and I was going slow)

OK.. so I think it's BS that you can only get these for an American brand truck. I have only found one other brand that actually has this design for a Tacoma but it's over $500.

Does anyone else know who may have these for a Tacoma?

I love the look. Kind of a hybrid of a straight oval and a curved in round tube.
