I noticed a trend in some stores. The offerings of music CD's have dwindled. My local Walmart has a half of a row for music CD's. And they offer prepaid online music purchases; itunes, etc.

When was the last time you bought a music CD?

If you don't buy CD's. What sites do you use to download?

It has been 2-3 years for me. I download all my music. Whether itunes, limewire, & others. I like to create different playlists. And keeping all the different original cd's in my truck was a pain.

I haven't bought a CD in four years. Its far easier to torrent something and put it in my iPod.

    Edit:

I use www.torrentz.com to find torrents and I use Bittorent as my client. No issues and I have been doing it for 3 years now.

I still buy CD's, i like having the music, and i also shop at this entertainment resale store in Knoxville Tn that i love, some may say i waste my money and time but the music to me seems more than just a song with the CD, i have records for wall art and a CD is just like having the record, sadly one day Cds will be gone, their already out of style, i'm just an odd guy

Yeah, I'm still old school I guess, I like to "touch" my music and I don't mind paying the artists for their hard work. But I do download stuff at times too.

I always buy CDs because I support underground artists. The music I listen to is worth my 12 dollars.

And I dont shop at walmart.

I download from iTunes or Amazon.com. Haven't bought a CD in years. Too many times there was only 1 or 2 good songs on the CD and you ended up paying for the stuff you didn't listen to.

Yeah, count me as old school too & love music, CDs, LPs, particularly.
Its a family thing, my grandfather was a radio station DJ. He got me into collecting.
A local resale store was closing & everything was 50% last week. I bought some incredibly inexpensive box sets! Goodwill has $1-2 CDs and LPs too.

I do have an IPOD for working out, but still prefer to see/feel/read the music & album art experience.

    Nothing yet, brand new!
Bought three cd's in Nov. Bought 4 LP's yesterday from a record store here in town. (Yes they are still around!) I do alot on my ipod now. Went into Border's the other week. They are down to 1 aisle for cd's :(.
I've never done anything on torrent before. Guess I need to look into that.
I listen to LP's several times a week. Most of my rock collection is now digital. All my classical is cd (Telarc recordings, Sony full digital). My jazz is cd/lp and ipod.

I still buy CD's, but I usually buy used off of Amazon or similar sites for just a couple dollars. I don't care to have a used CD because I will usually listen to it after I copy it on to my iPod. The reason I buy is because there is no replacement for having physical, tangible goods in your possession.

I don't like the idea of only owning digital versions of movies and music. It only takes one good hack or screw up and *POOF* all those 1's and 0's are all gone and I'd be left with an empty or corrupt HDD.
