You guys have been very patient with my postS over the past few days, as I am trying to finalize my wheel / tire upgrade. After long hours on the Internet I have finally come down to this wheel / tire upgrade for my 2009 4x4...

BFG A/T 265/70/17 on XD revolvers: 17x9 with -12 offset.

I am good to go with this upgrade even though I dont have a lift? Or will there be rubbing?

Last post I promise.....the the next post will be pics of the upgrade.

    Thanks for all the help!

No you pretty much say screw them too.

A 265 tire IMO and by most tire manufacturers is too narrow for a 9" wide wheel.

So everyone here with the xd revolvers are running 285s?

I think the bfg at has a cross section of 10.5? That would give me at least 1/2 inch of rubber on either side of the wheel....maybe I should look for 17x8's?

Problem is I'm really looking for. -12 offset for a wider stance and I don't wanna run spacers...

I wouldn't go past the recommended rim width for the tire I was running.

With -12 offset and a 32" tire (265/70R17=32" diameter) you'll likely have to remove your front mudflaps.

As always, YMMV and objects in the mirror are closer than they appear.

If you go with that size tire without s lift I almost guarantee you will be rubbing.

You can run 265/70/17 on the stock wheels and stock suspension with no rubbing , I did for about a year and a half .

I was also able to clear my mudflaps .

I did tons of research too and thats why I bought the 265/70/17 and just letting you know I rubbed quite a bit with 265/70/17s I dont know if it was entirely because I had 1" wheel spacers but when I turned the wheel in any direction I rubbed at about 75% to the turning stop. If you offset is going to give you that "wider" look it may rub.

when you have wheels that are wider than stock, more offset, or a wheel spacer it increases the chance of rubbing because the turning diameter is more. as a reference.. i had 31s on my stock wheels with no rub, i put on 15x8 wheels with 4.5mm offset(i think) i rubbed at full lock with the steering wheel on the drivers side. then i got the bright idea... if i buy wheel spacers i wont rub anymore!!!! yeah no. it rubbed 10000 times worse because the turning radius is more. hopefully this helps

I've got the 17 x 9 revolvers wrapped in 265/70/17 BFG/s No problems at all over the last 8000 miles. Because of the offset of the rim they rubbed, mostly in reverse. Even with the coilovers up front I still had to do some trimming of the plastic fender liner to avoid rubbing at full lock in reverse and when the tires are stuffed. Even after all of that with that tire and wheel combo I still occasionally rub the rear fender liner with the coils compressed and in a turn. For the life of me I don't understand how guys are running those big ass tires and getting full articulation from the suspension.

Ok I think I'm am understanding...I can run the 265/70 or 265/75 on STOCK wheels with no rubbing, but if I get a wheel with an offset like the XD REVOLVERS, I would most likely rub without a lift. So if I wanna upgrade my wheels I should go with a 0 offset wheel.

No they were KMC xd222 wheels. and yes that makes sense but the OP was saying how he wanted that wider look so he was getting a -12 OS. im not sure how far that is but if its anywhere wider I have a feeling he will be rubbing. I believe the OP was talking about getting after market wheels KMC XDs too. Just wanted to share my experince so he gets it right and doesnt have to spend the extra moolah like I did.

no do not get a 0 offset wheel you will not clear your calipers. and then you will have to put a wheel spacer on which is exactly what I ran into. I dont know exactly what you need to clear the caliper but it isnt much maybe 3-5mm?
