Here's a question to all of you... since I hear a lot of people buying/considering new armor for your trucks. I'm working with a friend who is a pro-fabricator to build custom sliders and expedition racks for my Tacoma, and depending on how it goes may potentially build bumpers to match the style.

What would you like to see for features or style in armor (sliders/bumpers/racks/etc)? It seems to me like most of the available options are identical with little variation.

rear bumper must have option for a tire gate (swing out or drop down)
    bumpers must have shackles
rear bumper must be able to have towing capabilities
sliders should have kick out (imo)

just a couple thoughts while i have a minute to respond

    A few bolts are different.
Yes, Yellow Fog Light pattern. You can have it all for $65 bucks. I forgot to mention one of the plastic PIAA covers is a little scuffed from what I remember, They have been boxed up since I moved to Colorado. I will be in the garage today so I can let you know a little more about condition w/pics later this evening.

Front tube style or hybrid plate style front bumpers are nice, and no one makes one currently.

The things that are important to me from a fabricator are:
    Quality of work
    Turn around time
    Reputation

Most of the people posting in this forum do not need armor for "style." Style should come from the fabricator. Also another problem he may run in to is, the big names in armor already have "production style" bumpers on the market, with very quick turn around times. Making jigs, templates, and offering lots options, gets peoples interest.

If your friend can make a name for him self with the 2nd gen community, he will have a lot of local customers. Honestly there very few fabricators, within 600miles of Denver, that are interested in 2nd gen trucks.

They made it sound like the price was based on the tires that was on the truck never really a good indication that the tires are the most valuable part of the truck.
I know the truck needs work as most older ones do but not the right price for me.

I bought the lift spacers from them for my wifes commander last year. They were very professional and provided quality parts. I would consider them to be as good as Brandon from Avid Off-Road in customer service and their craftsmanship was top notch for what I ordered.

They look good, but they're made out of 3/16" inner hitch steel? Not sure what that is. when it's twice as thick as regular sliders it might be strong, but they're going to be heavy.

Most sliders are made out of HREW or DOM because they're specially treated to strengthen the steel

theres no way a company can offer a life time gaurentee on armor. its made to take a beating, so if u drop off a huge rock and come down on sliders and they bend a little. thats on u,they are not going to replace something like that... my .02
