I am wanting a simple head unit for my 2002 tacoma.
All I really need it for is to play my Ipod.
I bought a FM transmitter and am not satisfied at all.
I am looking at Best Buy and they recommend to me units that have a front mount Aux imput.
Can I just plug my Ipod in and play without having to create a playlist?
Any advice on models would help as well.
    Thanks a lot

with those aux ports you control the songs through your ipod still. you obviously change the volume with the head unit but as far as skipping through songs it is just like your truck speakers became your headphones.

    That would be great.
    Problem is, I have a 2002.
And I just have the radio without the CD or MP3 capability.
I wonder if I could find one of those for mine.
Would save a bunch of money!

thanks. I might try to search the net for one that would go in your stock radio, if not i guess you'll have to get an after market setup

I'd replace your head unit with an inexpensive one that comes with mp3 CD capabilities and an aux input. It is nice to be able to burn 150 songs onto a disc and not worry about a dead battery on your mp3 player.

You're not bothering me any. All I have to do is work and I've been here since 8am staring at excel spreadsheet. My eyes are on fire so I figured I would see what was going on at TW.

    Thanks man.
One more question: Will any head unit fit, or does it have to be a specific size?

Very true too. I love mp3 cds. seems like you never get to the end of it. but all depends how much green you want to spend.

I dont think more than $100 for the head unit and the wiring harness.
I do need a wiring harness right?

go to www.crutchfield.com and enter your truck info. Then browse the units that will fit your truck. You can purchase there or you can write down the model and go to your local store.

with a burning program. You just set it to burn a data CD and put the MP3 files on it.

$100 would be enough. You don't need a harness but they do make your job easier.

Ok I was just making sure.
I went to Best Buy's web site and submitted my info.
They gave me some possibilities, so I went to E BAY and am finding them for $25-50 less
