Squeeky slave cylinder?

So I know about the squeeky clutch pedal because of bad bushings and mine squeeks sometimes also. But my slave cylinder squeeks almost all of the time and I have no idea why. I put grease in were the rod pushes against the clutch fork but that didnt work. So does anyone have any ideas? Its very annoying and loud.

 

that push rod your applying grease to is apart of the clutch master cylinder not the slave, the slave is bolted to the tranny under the truck. either way replacing either one of them is a very simple chore and neither of them cost much at all. i spend around 100$ to replace both and it only took a couple hours thats with bleeding new fluid into the system.

 

If you already applied grease where the slave (not master) cylinder meets the shift fork, its very possible you have throwout bearing noise; would involve dropping the tranny obviously, and either replacing the bearing or applying grease.

 

It is the slave that I applied grease to NOT the master cylinder. I pulled the littled boot off where the piston inside the slave cylinder pushes the rod out, but it didnt help. So I guess thats all I can do. And its not the throwout bearing because it only squeeks when I push the clutch in and it stops untill I let go of the clutch and it doesnt it wether the truck is running or not. So Idk what it is. Doesnt effect anything besides being annoying.

 

I have this same problem. I have tried green grease, other moly grease, graphite, urea grease, anti-seize compound. I am about to stick a cap on it to see if it will hold up (doubt it).

Does anyone know where to buy the really thick, hard moly grease? It has a really thick viscosity, almost like chewing gum. Someone once said to use that.

 

I had the same problem, try getting someone to work the clutch while you spray some grease on there. I had the same problem and did that till I had time to replaced it.

 

Tried it. It still makes the noise. It's like it scrapes the grease out.

 

dang, at least they are easy/cheap to replace, I think I got myn at Napa for around 40 bucks
