i have a 08 d/c l/b 4X4 with the 4.0. what size gas tank is in it?i searched and couldnt find it and too lazy to go to my truck and look in the book. my problem is my gas mileage sucks so bad i might dump the truck to get something else.i hate to do it but 15 mpg isnt cutting it for me anymore.i know gas is down but 15 mpg is still 15 mpg.i could have bought a powerstroke diesal ford. i think its a 21 gallon tank.i get 320 mpg to a full tank, divide that by 21 gallon tank and i get 15.23 mpg. does this sound right?

you're doing it wrong. It is 21 gallons. To calculate MPG, fill up, reset trip odo, drive until light comes on, go fill up and print out the receipt. Use the gallon amount on the receipt and the trip odo mileage.

Edit: The most I've ever filled was 18.5 gallons. Most of the time it is around 17.5 gallons.

Correct, 21 gallons. I have an 06' and I assume the 08s are the same.

most people have around 4 gallons left when the fuel light comes on. From that estimate, you're probably putting in 17 when you fill up... which means you're getting closer to the 18 mpg range.

If you go to gasbuddy.com they have a fuel log book that tracks your mileage, you just have to enter the numbers.
