Possibly buying a Beretta

Insight needed.

My wife and I have been looking at 9mm hand guns and settled on three potentials.
1) Glock 23
2) Sig Sauer P229
3) Beretta (looking at the 9000S-F)

Through discussion, I discovered that a friend has a Beretta 9000S F Series for sale. He hasn't given a price, only that he paid $330 for it.

I've been reading reviews and various feedback regarding the 9000S and it's all good, with only a few minor exceptions. I also find no FTF's reported on this weapon.


Those with Beretta experience what are your impressions of the 9000S and a fair price?

Pal in n. fla sells guns,His shotguns are Beretta. Handguns are Glock.That says it all.

Although I'll claim ignorance up front (I was raised hunting small game with shot guns; however, never owned a hand gun), several friends I'm talking with speak as though the Sig Sauer is separate from a Glock 23?

I've never had an encounter with a Beretta , BUT.....in Police Academy our Captain Instrutor (Head over the Academy) came in to speak with us and lay out his rules. When he was through , he asked " By the way , anyone in this class carry a Berreta?" One guy raised his hand , the Captain requested that the officer go to his cruiser and bring it in ( unloaded and cleared ) The Captain checked it, a Sergeant checked it and a Deputy checked it - The Captain said point it at me as if your comprehending me........Withing seconds the Captain had reached out and pulled the entire top of the Beretta off!!!! He told the officer , before the shooting course he'd better have a real gun. They couldn't preach enough about Glock at the Academy.And all of the Officers that I know carry Glock. I recommend going to gun shop and handling them all first. I am partial to the Glocks.

 

1st - Sig
2nd - S&W MP9 compact or Glock 19

If you have the funds I'd go with the Sig, but if you want to save a few bucks go with the Smith or the Glock. All of them are great guns and you wont be disappointed with any of them.
