Even with the Nissan Frontier being less money, having more options, etc it is still in second place, nice! :)

I still think it is a pretty nice vehicle though, I still have a 1998 Nissan Frontier and so far has been a great truck.

So after poking around on Club Frontier, I managed to come up with a pic of the OP in case someone might recognize him. Hard to tell though since you cant see his face in the pic. :D

Not a Toyota hater, they are good trucks too. My dad has a 00' taco with 340k on it, pretty much no major issues.

Tracked 8500 miles with mine, 18.2 mpg. Maybe the extra weight is why Nissan gets higher overall safety rating in front, side, rollover, and rear. Actually the highest of all mid-size trucks followed by Tacoma's.

It's good to hear from the other side, especially when you can support your claims with something other than opinion. Looking forward to watching the discussions.

Lurking around here for the last few days, I have to admit that I am jealous of all the aftermarket support tacos have. I wish we had more.

BTW 04LTtacoma...how far is Beaverton from MT Angel? I have family that lives in Mt Angel, and I have not been there since 8th grade. Beautiful state.

Hey Guys; I am one of those Frontier douches from that other site :) I actually signed up here first; to apologize for some of the stupidity that gets spewed around on the forums; and secondly to clear up a lot of misinformation that seems to be spread as gospel. It appears as a few of your members here fall in to that same realm; stupidity just seems to flow right out. Hopefully we are not all judged on a few morons that do more talking than thinking.

I would also like to get this out right off the bat; no one likes the term Fronty; it sounds retarded and I wish people would stop referring to it as such. In my opinion it just sounds ignorant and has always annoyed me a little...to be clear this is directed at Frontier owners.

As far as the debate of which is better; it's obviously neither. Both trucks have different appeals for different reasons...although I think it would be safe to say most initially chose the Frontier due to price. I am very fond of Toyotas, hell some of my best friends drive tacomas and I never understood the rivalry, other than the fact that they are so comprable.

A mildly lifted Frontier can clear a 33" tire roughly; most seem semi jealous at the tacomas ability to fit 35's with a 6" lift :) My truck has a 3-4" lift and I am running 37's; so not all Frontiers are created equal.

His truck is running a mild mid-travel set up that probably pulls around 9-10" max. It's a well built well set up truck that should be a lot of fun. He built his truck more of a show truck than anything else; so I personally think it's nice he actually improved the suspension vs just running spacers or something like that.

A "titan swap" as it's referred to in the Frontier world; bolting on Titan uppers and lowers 3" over, will net 9" of travel with a standard length shock. If you go to shock hoops and run a longer coilover you can attain about 12" of usualbe travel. My new setup cycles 18.5" strapped; my old kit was just under 17".

@TerribleOne, Then you must forgive our use of the word "Fronty", as we (I) have heard otehr owners refering to it as that, so just figured it was an acceptable use, much like the Tacoma being called "Taco". Regardless, Welcome to the site.
