Theory: Those who do not run the sway bar will experience taco lean when upgrading to a non adjustable suspension.

Research: In the last year I have gone through about 8 different variations of my suspension set ups if not more. So I now have a theory on taco lean and want to see if its accurate. I have done countless changes to see if I can get the weight distribution as close to be exactly the same on both sides of the truck, and did not change to avoid skewing the results. This is what I have found:

    My set ups & Leans:

    Set up 1:
Front: 3" Truxx Lift Level Kit (top plate spacer) w/stock shocks & Sway Bar
Rear: Stock LEaf pack non tsb with 1.5" blocks w/stock shocks
    Lean: None

    Set Up 2:
Front: 885 Coils with 1/4 top place spacer, Billies 5100's @ 0 + Sway Bar
    Rear: TSB Leaf Pack (4) + 2" AAL + Rear Billies 5100's
    Lean: None

    Set Up 3:
Same as above but without sway bar
    Lean: 1/4" drivers side

Set Up 4: (Without Front Bumper & Winch)
Front: 886 Coils with 1/4 Top Plate spacer, billies 5100 @0 - sway bar
Rear: Dakar HD Leaf Pack, 5100 Billies
Lean: 2" (after 2 weeks reduced to 1.5")

    Set Up 5:
Same as above - top plate spacer on drivers side + sway bar
    Lean: None

Set Up 6: (With front bumper and winch)
Front: 886 Coils, 1/4 Top Plates, OME 9000's, - Sway Bar
Rear: Dakar HD Leaf Pack, 5100 Billies
    Lean: .5"

Set Up 7: (With front bumper and winch)
Front: 886 Coils, 1/4 Top Plates, OME 9000's, + Sway Bar
Rear: Dakar HD Leaf Pack, 5100 Billies
    Lean: None

I have 5100's set at 0 and Eibachs with 1/4" spacer on driver side rear TSB. There is only about 1/4" difference.

Good timing on this one Josh. I put my diff drop back on today and may be raising my front up from .85 to 1.75 tomorrow, but I noticed my lean had increased in the last year (since I put the 5100s on). The lean is now very noticeable from the front with a 3/4 inch difference up front and 1/4 in the rear. I started thinking about the spacer, but then people here are saying that it didn't fix it. I also wondered (maybe someone here can tell me) whether adding the 1/4 inch spacer throws off the alignment? Trying to decide whether to get the spacer and wait on raising the front, or whether to raise the front tomorrow and deal with the spacer later.

5100s all 4 corners, no tsb, AAL, sway bar, original springs

The shop that installed my 5100's and Eibachs said that I would need the 1/4" driver side spacer to keep things level. They said the OEM front coils on the newer trucks are side specific to help with the Taco lean. The Eibachs are not side specific so more lean. My truck stayed about the same, about a 1/4" difference.

Just a bunch of old crap
    Set up:
Front: AP bumper/winch, 885's, 5100's at .85, 1/4" top plate spacer, no sway bar
Rear: Stock LEaf pack with 2" AAL, 5100's
Lean: 1/2" to PASSENGER side (wtf)

Possibles: Stock leafs are soft (almost 6 years old) and also have a 60" Hi-Lift mounted on the passenger side of the inside of the bed. I was sitting dead level after the lift and bumper went on, but after my first trail run hitting some hard bumps, I had the lean to the passenger side. I think my leafs are too soft now.

Will report when I upgrade the leaf pack with aftermarkets.

Wouldn't the differances in the amount of gas in the tank throw off the measuments?

I should point out that all my coil sets were x series.

Will do , as soon as my back heals.

No, Running a full tank would not drop you that much. If its doing that you really really really need new springs.

I know that on the 08,09+ the engine bay is a different layout.
