    Does that apply to any winch or one in particular? Any other advice with winches? I've read that sometimes the grease they use sucks so to disassemble it and use better grease for easier freewheeling..

    just the xrc's winches......i belive
    you will see the gasket isnt a full gasket on the soleniod....

    and yes you can change the grease out in the xrc's as well to help with the free spooling.....
