ah no, there was this metal plate, hollow in the middle, it just looks like a big ass 3 inch washer with a hole in the center. The instructions that came with the snorkel said to installl this piece on top of the snorkel before putting on the inlet (part 2 on the first page parts list). The piece that I'm talking about is not pictured there...

No idea what that is? When you say inlet do you mean the air ram or the rubber tube?

Some of us got different parts bags but all had the same basic stuff needed.

Ya the air ram, my bad. I'll take a picture of it later, it's just I'm too lazy right now, I finally finished installing the snorkel. Truck was muddy as hell froma few days ago, went to wash it. Ima chill for a bit, and go take some pics in a bit, and upload them to show you what I'm talking about.

I just mounted my air ram right on top of the snorkel with the provided black hose clamp. Is your air ram one or two pieces (removable grill)? Is the back of it square or rounded like mine?

ok, I took some pictures,... it looks just like yours boyd...

Here it is with the ram air off...you can see the "washer looking thing that I'm talkin about.

    Here it is by itself...

My question was, did ya'lls kit come with it, and if it did, did you guys put it on?

It seems to me like it would restrict the air flow...so I want to leave it off, but the instructions say to put it on...

Mine didn't come with that...? I do know Jordon's came with that but we didn't install it. Maybe it is to keep rain going out the channels on the air ram  I'm looking into it.

That's exactly what I was thinking! either way, Ima take it off for now, as it doesn't look like it's gonna rain any time soon.

Filled the tank today after the install, so we'll see what the mileage looks like.

I just checked: Expedition Portal, TTORA, and re-read the instructions (1st or 2nd post here) and none show the washer being installed.

Even Safari doesn't show it http://www.safarisnorkel.com/snorkel/ss135hf/ss135hf.htm

 No clue WTF it's for

What model are the directions for? I trashed the stock directions and used Kurts instructions.

Yea I had it on there since I installed the snorkel (bout a month now) and today I finally got around to actually cutting the inner fender and hooking it up. So my snorkel install is complete now. :) and no retarded ass washer looking thing. haha

Strange mine did not have that either. I have periodically checked my lines for water especially after snow and nothing so I don't think it is needed.
