Had my 2011 DC 4x4 for about 3 months now and the last 2 tanks have went up from 18ish to just over 19 with mixed driving, mostly city. Not bad I guess, but feel it should be better on these trucks.

Had mine for about 9 months now (77XX miles), seems like it hovers around 17-19.5 with my driving of in town and highway mix. I'm thinking with an AFE Pro Dry drop-in filter and free-flowing exhaust it might come up some...as long as I keep my foot out of it. This is on a bone-stock, 2010 V6 Auto DC.

wrong .... they arent offered in certain markets with manuals however

anyhow, i also doubt hes pulling 22 if it is indeed 4wd ... best to date for me is 23 and mines a 2wd but then again i got the 3.4 opposed to the 4.0

I did it again. Got tired of paying truck payments and gas and traded in for a 2015 Honda Accord Sport since I enjoyed my 2013 Sport so much.
I've discovered that wind matters a LOT.

Over 22mpg driving from 77845 to 76123 with a tailwind the entire way. 73-78mph cause I was in a hurry.

16.5mpg driving back with a headwind the entire way. 68-72mph.

Even crosswinds can affect MPG that much. Here on the highway I take, when there is wind, it's always from the side, and it has a HUGE effect on MPG (can lower efficiency by up to 30%, and sometimes even more with high speed winds)

Just turned 341.5 miles on this tank of gas and low fuel light has not came on yet. I have never done this well on a tank of gas before.
It might be due to switching to synthetic engine oil and inflating my tires to 36. psi. I also have synthetic in the rear axle but haven't switched the transfer case and the front axle over to it yet.
I have also been driving like an old man in no hurry, watching the rpm's very close like many on here have stated.
My air filter is stock oem and it has 10000 miles on it.
I have a V6 auto 3.73 gears 4x4 access cab. I think this tank is going to average out around 21 miles per gal.
    It can be done. :turtleride:

Last tank was the best mpg I've had in over a year, 17.88. This was mostly freeway driving ~65mph. Normally I'm getting ~14.5

I regularly get 22 to 23 MPG with my Access Cab, TRD Off Road V-6 automatic on the highway. At 64 MPH I'm turning 1800-1900 RPM. Yep, I know, I drive like a grandma, but slowing down does get results. I always use cruise control. Oh yes, this is Wyoming regular gas with no mixture of power robbing ethanol.

well i was getting about 19-21 mpg before my lift now i'm lucky if i get 17 i'm more like 14-16mpg but that because i am running 35's and haven't re geared yet. should of saved more and did it all at once but they never tell you about re gearing until after you put on the lift. damn bastards!!!!

5100's all the way around, OME 880's and AAL, BF's 265/75R16. Switched beds from Stepside to Fleetside
I switched over to a first Gen, 2002 TRD now getting 22mpg hwy and still have 1/3 of a tank left (70L tank) in town with 350km on it (220 miles), so it should get about 17 or 18 in town.

Although with summer here I am getting better mileage on the 2010, about 17mpg on the last two tanks. I think that's about as good as she'll get though.

    Cheers,

    D.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
regearing has to do w/ tires, not lift. you also need to adjust your ODO mileage for the larger tires. you probably need to take your mileage x 1.12~ish and that'll give you a better estimate.

I just filled up today and put 17.65 gal. in the tank with 353 miles on trip odometer, thats 20 miles per. gal. I dont think thats to bad for a average of alot of different driving conditions.

My Tacoma is not stock but the mods are very light: aFe pro dry air filter, tornado in the intake tube, a few other little tweaks. My last tank was the best yet: 25.6mpg. Outstanding!
