Most people buy a medical kit that says it has everything you need to sustain x amount of people for x amount of days. CRAP!! If you get one of these and empty it out. that way you have a nice bag or box to build your own on. besides when you build your own you know exactly where and what everything is. a lot of people jsut think cause they have a med kit that there ok and its all good untill some one really really needs help and your diggin through your bag tryin to find while some one is bleeding to death.

dont think its a black widow cause i still have a good appatite and im not vomiting and im not dizzy blah blah blah. it may be a brown recluse but im watchin it carfully. it took a lot of tissue but it looks to have slowed down a lot. my biggest concern in infection becaus eits on the bottom of my foot.

This thread needs a bump. Dave, did you ever go to a doc. for that spider bite?

Anyone got any trips planned any time soon? I am headed down to the Red River Gorge in KY this time next month with a backpacking virgin. Should be a pretty good time. Then I have another trip planned in July at Coker Creek in TN/NC. I am hoping this raining shit quits before next month so I am not hiking on muddy trails along the edges of 2k+ cliffs.

Planning on camping out during our TW meet here in June and heading down to Yellowstone/Grand Teton to camp the following weekend...nothing planned for sooner than that. Too cold and snowy still :(

I should repack/reorganize my stuff soon...need to make room for my new Brunton cookware set and the other odds and ends I've purchased over the winter. I need to get fresh waterproofing on my tent too.

And just so that we have something on the homepage besides the pic of Dave's nasty foot...

good to hear it is healing! I am hating this weather so much right now. we have had MAYBE 3 sunny days in the last 3 weeks... the rest has been rain.
Nice! have fun! I just set up a huge table in the garage today and got my stuff organized and took advantage of the sun the other day and waterproofed my hammock stuff.

Very nice I camp in my truck with the bestop. Its much nicer for me because I like to move where I'm camping daily.

    Its OK

I drove through Banff on my way to AK a few years back and it was gorgeous! No time to stop then but I definitely want to go back and spend some time exploring.

I'm really looking forward to getting out. I was driving yesterday in the hills and there were a few campers out (RV's)...I almost wished I could have stayed just one night. Heck, I would have settled for a couple of hours around a campfire...
