So I quit my job today... me and my boss's personalities just don't mix and it finally came to a head yesterday. Its unfortunate because I loved my job but hated my working environment.

Because of training and such I actually won't be leaving for two months.

I am moving to the Baltimore area and hope to get into the restaurant industry... I'll have to start somewhat low but build my experience and hopefully open my own place one day...

Anyone have any job openings in the Baltimore area?

There are a lot of TW members in that area right? May finally get to do more wheelin!

me and my girlfriend work at the same place... i'm an animal cruelty investigator and she runs the shelter, taking care of the animals i bring in. after a 30 min screaming match between me, my boss, and the executive director... she came into the room and told them all we were leaving (we had been talking about it for a couple weeks now)... i was so proud of her hahaha.

i would like to start my own place one day... maybe a sports bar. i don't have the experience to start off in a mgmt position (though I have worked in a lot of restaurants and have always moved up quickly). i figure i'll start off in something lower like a cook or something and move my way up. figure out what all goes into starting your own place.

i think i'm pretty over qualified for that but its something i have always loved so i think i'll enjoy it.

    we'll see...

thats a pretty good plan. and good for you and your GF. I quit the restaurant industry right before moving to open a new store for them in Asheville NC, to work in the automotive industry. I loved the restaurant business, I was a bartender and assistant manager, damn it was a blast!

Best wishes to your new adventure!!

my gf sister goes to school and works at johns hopkins... her husband does real estate and could get us a place for free while its being renovated (new paint and carpet) we can even get a discount if we help. then the rent won't be too bad 800 a month for 3 room apt on the 1st floor. we will also be right next to hopkins campus so a cool area too. seemed like a pretty convienient move.

That doesn't sound too bad. I am a country boy and could easily buy a house in my area for that. I always enjoyed going down to the Inner Harbor. Beautiful place. I hope everything works out for you and the GF. Best of luck!!!

Congrats on making such a bold move. I am sure most of us have experience a boss that was an ass.

I am sure you will be missed in The Glen. The good thing is you will not have to shovel as much....

I have some Buffalo Bills stuff I might pay you to take....

Good luck and keep us posted.
